Good company, I think a little dividend action, and I'm happy to trim at 105-110 and sell at 120-130. Give it a few weeks and it'll be back to 105-110, an easy 10-15% gain. errr here's hoping.

TWTR... well I sold off some stock today before the close expecting a drop. I'm buying up lots at 15.5 and assume it might open even lower tomorrow. Not that I think it's a good company, but I'm in and want to get out and have to lower cost plus it seems to regularly wiggle between 15-18 give or take and I'll make money in between.

Also, MU, what a day! up what 10% or something? Plenty of upside historically but this much of a bump in a single day and I'm happy to trim plenty off and wait for it to come back down. Currently and unfortunately one of my biggest holdings and biggest losers. Well this one and TWTR. Both of which I want to just get out of ASAP.

Apple: 2.3% forward dividend wiped out in less than 5 mins of aftermarket action isn't fun. Curse of Silicon Valley rarely fails.

Micron: Hynix reported last night and guiding 2Q DRAM shipment up teens. Channel inventory tight.

They miss expectation because they didn't send enough free burrito coupons my way.

Meh. I'm over it already and will be adding more to this position as I monitor the price action and sentiment over the next several weeks.

I'm still moderately bullish on the company. It just looks like I'll need to wait until 2017 for growth to return instead of 2016. The iPhone 6 really was such a massive supercycle that the tough compare is just insurmountable.

Looking back, I think the market should have recognized how unsustainable it was and not have given Apple such a high multiple last April / May. Perhaps the high of $132 was unwarranted.

I really, really need to learn to remove such short term thinking from my investing outlook.

Well, if you liked it at $130, you will love it at $95, and marry it at $55.

Buckle up brahs, I sense some market turbulence ahead!

I'm getting that sense as well.... my hunch is it's going to be a pretty bad quarter for most, or at least what was to be expected but overall we seem to be fairly inflated on a lot of stocks... LNKD on Thursday and I'm not looking forward to it. AMZN on the other hand, I sold the last of mine around 620-630 so if it can come down 5% or something, at high 500's I'll get back in.

buy fear sell greed right?

I'll be doing some trimming before each report and planning to buy on the dips.

Just bought more AAPL at 96 this morning. It might go lower a few points but I'm ok will sticking in a little more than I planned at this level and trimming off that portion at 105 and selling a chunk around 110. Give me 10-15% returns on a share like AAPL and I'm happy any day.

TWTR's hovering around 15 and I'm scared it'll go down further. Just loaded up a fair amount to lower my cost and try to get the hell out of this one. I think I started buying it in the 30's originally or high 20's so it's been a long road...

You want to get rid of it so you bought more? Fascinating.

How do you measure success?

YHOO seems like a good bet with Starboard getting 4 seats on the board.  It seems like one of those stocks this thread would gamble on.  A lot of shake-up before June so buying in at its current price of $36.83 seems like it will make money.

I am talking out of my ass here but wish I could set a reminder to see how this works out.  My 2015 CAT bet did not work out.

Wouldn't touch Yahoo with a 10 foot pole. It's a shitty company, so no amount of investor intervention is going to solve their fundamental problems.

That tune has been sung for too many times.

Their fundamental problem is Marissa Meyer.

She's been a poor CEO, but the company has been broken since 2000.

I know YHOO is not a company to hold long term but getting some bump due to a changed board seems like what some people go for here.  Hell buying a company and holding for a short period after an activist investor tries to take over is worth the short term investment.
