I have 5 RLBL suits and 2 jackets/SCs. About as lazy douche of a wardrobe as it gets, but not much for eating.

I don't get why Bloomberg would invite Marc Farber for an interview. Dude is fucking useless and creepy as fuck.

So Marriott got outbid by the chinese for Starwood?

Wonder if that will be better or worse for the usefulness of Starwood points...

My consulting day SPGs wait in the balance. I never used one sadly.

Never?

They are like...the only points I have ever managed to actually use. The airline miles pile up because of random restrictions that make them unusable (and I refuse to use miles for like...$250 flights). Can't upgrade because I don't have full fare tickets...can't buy the flights I want because there are no more award fares...etc.

Recently spent my Marriott/Ritz points on a leatherman skeletool cx, because you need an absurd number to actually get anything...

But starwood? Between their generous transfer agreements to other programs, and the relative availablilty of either award nights or cash and points stays...they seem pretty easy to use (although their network is smaller than some...especially since they don't have wide-reaching low-rent chains). My Starwood credit card has gotten my some nice stays. Stayed at the W in montreal for a few nights last year, have a single night at the W in Fort Lauderdale next month (stopover on the way back from Key West really).

Only problem with the award stays at nice hotels...is that everything else is expensive.

Stayed at a "Luxury Collection" SPG property in Finland a little while back. Sure the room was "free"...but everything at the hotel was way more expensive than a normal hotel. Want to use one of their multiple styles of saunas? $$$. Drink from the minibar because liquor sales are shut off? $$$. Wifi? $$$.

A perfect match for Bloomberg, then.

Eh, I have no love for any of them. But I've had enough personal experience with Blomberg "reporters" and stories they've covered to know that they're not just sloppy but deliberately intellectually dishonest.

I much prefer Bloomberg news because they don't sensationalize the shit out of everything like CNBC.

I guess it's the lesser of two evils.

I'm sure you're right. I think it's been literally years since I watched either, aside from when I've been stuck in an elevator with a monitor or something like that.

Horizontal spread on a Tesla. Now there's a Silicon Valley porn scenario.

Yeah, it's pathetic. Between the SPG points and Skymiles, I should take a few months long vacation. My buddy is getting married in April and I airbnb'ed my place. TLC should put me on one of their hoarder shows.
