Unless you have some inside information, trading before earnings is pure gambling.

Or you can have thorough research on recent new to increase your odds.

Who else is locking in these #gainz with me?

I found his album's cover art. I'm going 3X short.

I agree 100% that it is a gamble to trade earnings.  I have seen from reading equity analyst reports that anything they are told is crafted by management.  You may be able to take cues about reaffirming guidance vs. not reaffirming but again there is a lot of speculation.

You going 3x short for the whole year?  We still haven't seen what China would do if they tossed around the word austerity.

Read the earnings call transcript. So much good stuff baked in and no puppy killing. Consider me baffled.

At least rht is shielding some of my woes. Up over 4% today.

Well, it only ended down 7.8%...

Not great, but that's why those after-hours numbers are not really reliable...they were twice as low.

Beat guidance too...just not by as much as the analysts has guessed. When that happens the executives are probably like facepalm.gif "We fucking told you guys what it was going to be and we did a little better, why aren't you happy?"

Looks like we're setting up for a nice rally today. Futures are firmly up.

Isn't this a bitch:

Kanye West says he's broke and is looking for a little help from his friends. The rap star and husband of Kim Kardashian claims he's $53 million in debt. And he's asking Facebook (FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a tweet to invest $1 billion—that's billion with a B—in his "ideas." Not to limit himself, West is also reaching out to Google co-founder and current CEO of parent Alphabet (GOOGL), Larry Page, for money. No indication if either is interested.

He could probably do an exclusive deal with Tidal for that amount. aka be a J-Z bitch. Don't think Soundcloud or Pandora are in the financial position to do so. Maybe Apple Music, but then they have Dre.

I take issue with the musicians making a big stink at the Grammys about not making any money due to streaming. Fine what's the opportunity cost of doing the next best thing for themselves as a career ? Oh wait it doesn't make as much money, then stop bitching.

That being said I don't stream music, I buy a cd or two every 6 months and listen until I'm bored rinse and repeat
