Or if a scientist busts all over ramubrah's cryo bod

Cost of housing is certainly one of the big perks for living in the hinterlands.

I'm seeing much red today. Just wish I had more cash in a tax advantaged fund to deploy.

I wonder if Icahn still has his AAPL stake.

He's been unseasonably quiet the past couple of months.

I'm curious too. If he's still holding, he'd be flat to a slight loss now right?

He's definitely still way up. I know he bought his original stake in August of 2013. That would be put him at a cost basis of roughly high 50s or low 60s on a split adjusted basis.

Can someone explain to me why the market is tanking right now? Fed minutes didn't seem bad from the write up I skimmed.

Their comments weren't as dovish as hoped, especially in comparison to the dovish bazooka that Draghi whipped out last Thursday.

Good lord. Rest of the week will probably be shitty. Earnings so far as a broad measure have been meh.

Expecting FB to fuck me AH as well.

All of my 2015 Roth IRA buys were at S&P prices roughly 10% higher.  Given that prices are lower and if they stay this way for 2016, it allows me to purchase more shares at a discount (to 2015) with the same amount of Roth IRA dollars plus more in my 401k due to raises in income.

I can see this being depressing if you are not going to put more money into the market than you did in 2015 but if you are, this is a great time to accumulate shares at a discount.  If the market never recovers then there is a worldwide depression and I doubt you will be worried about your retirement and more fending for your life to stay alive (Dr. Doom scenario).

On a rational basis, I know what you're saying is 100% correct. I should be happy that prices are going down because I can buy more at a discount.

But on an emotional level, it's hard to stomach seeing all the paper losses when just a month ago, I was firmly in the green. Now I'm firmly in the red. Not really looking for sympathy because my portfolio is highly concentrated with risky stocks. Like I said earlier, dat risk reward doe.

It just sucks seeing the chickens coming home to roost.

Your chicken comment is timely.  Due to the insane increase in the price of Happy Chicken Certified Organic Free Range Non-GMO Gluten Free Eggs we (mostly my wife's insistence) are ordering a chicken coop next week.  That's right, I am going to be an urban chicken farming bastard starting in a couple of weeks.  Maybe at some point I can sell eggs and buy shares...

I'm very pleased with the results but I'm not cheering just yet. It's up as close as 9% AH, which is fantastic, but I can easily see it drop back down significantly based on earnings commentary on the results call. They might allude to increased CapEx, for example.

Alternatively, we might see a drastic down day tomorrow where all earnings gains are erased. It happened to NFLX. I could easily see it happening to FB, to the point where I'm considering selling half my stake right now.
