Talking stocks, trading, and investing in general - Page 550

Woke up at 4 to see VRX price action. Down 15%.

Went back to sleep. Checked again when their conference was going on. Down 8%.

Checked back again 10 minutes later. Down 2% and rapidly recovering. Bought some shares at $113.

Watched it go back down another 10%. Got nervous and sold half my stake for a small loss.

Lmao what a roller coaster ride. Nothing like an adrenaline rush to get you up and running in the morning.

I know. This stuff is insane!!! My August Berkshire share is barely holding on to its 5% gain after two whole months. If things don't start really moving I am going to lose it.

ugh. I spoke too soon. With today's market dump it is more like 4.75%. FML.

Well I have not been doing my part. Except for the single share I bought in August, I haven't bought A shares in a few years and mostly own Bs. I don't think liquidity is really an issue with the As. The Bs are plenty liquid enough and the conversion feature in the As means the prices track closely enough and the market has plenty of people willing to arbitrage the price differences if they threaten to get out of whack. I know I have looked to do it and have never seen the opportunity even during crazy days that seemed like they would create those kind of events.

Damn, some of my oil related guys are really going down hard... GLF, CHK, and CNX (ok CNX just had a bad report). I'm still amazed that a stock can go down like 6-8% and then do it 3-4 or more days in a row.

Also, SAVE. Damn, this one keeps going down. Honestly I think it's way oversold and they'll be fine, but again, I'm still amazed how low it's gone.

Lastly, discussion point. So someone (otc?) was talking about OZM, which from my understanding was just some sort of vc firm or something. At one point I bought and sold them playing some volatility. But here's the thing, pull back to their monthly, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year, 3 year, hell even the 5 year charts... no particular news that i can see and yet every time I lower my price alert it triggers. They've taken a consistent and HUGE slide over the past few months to a year and i can't find any news explaining why. At first I was eager to buy, then I was amazed at the low price, now I'm confused. Anyone know what's up with these guys?

Lol on oil. Same thing for me. At this point I'm playing the vol on it buying stocks I want low and selling off half my stake when it goes higher.

I have been wondering the same thing about OZM. They are a hedge fund. They are under DOJ and SEC investigation I believe. That said I am adding to the my position over time, although I have other stocks that I prefer that I add to first.

Phew!!!!!!!!

Too early to celebrate just yet tho cause the earnings call is underway. They might say sth to shift sentiment.

That said, I'm just happy the stock didn't tank 5% or more *knock on wood*

hah, MDLZ up 4% premarket, now down .25%.

Been trailing the market for days, finally up slightly ahead of the market. ...mainly due to oil stocks in both cases.

The way oil prices jump and tank based on stupid reports and inventory levels is quite frankly absurd. We should have a much better gauge of just how much slack there is.

Monday: oil supply unexpectedly grew by 1 million barrels, price tanks 3-4%
Friday: baker Hughes reports rig counts dropped by 100, price shots up 6%

So fucking stupid.
