Not anymore haha

Still don't believe in Facebook just don't think there is that much money to be earned from old people. Or maybe just cause I haven't really used Facebook past 2 years. Did login today and noticed how crazy targeted ads are. Instagram is interesting tooand could pay off

WTF happened? Maybe it'll pop again tomorrow in the morning? Contemplating picking up shares right now.

Depends on what was said in the call, no?
That's not an uncommon reaction for a tech/high-growth company. Headline is that earnings beat expectations, so there's an initial AH pop. But by the end of the call there has either been troubling news (reduced targets going forward, etc.) or just nothing solid to suggest that the above-expectations earnings for the recently completed quarter are necessarily a sign of sustained things to come.

You made me curious, so I looked at a yahoo discussion board. Somebody posted this thoughtful and helpful analysis explaining FB's AH behavior:[COLOR=FF00AA][COLOR=FF00AA][COLOR=FF00AA] And you wonder why the dirtyJEUWS have been kicked out of 135 countries???

Yeah. I was on the call, but fell asleep at the end of it :)embar:). Just snooped around and I think the catalyst for the plunge was commentary that payment revenues are expected to decline next quarter. Also, confirmation of declining popularity amongst the teen crowd. Still seems a bit exaggerated, given the fantastic earnings beat.

I just might think it'll pop a couple percentage points tomorrow in the morning so I may pick up shares.

Lol @ yahoo comments. Some of the comments I see people post across all types of investment-oriented sites seriously make me wonder what the average investor looks like in terms of demographics, and how educated they are. Spooky ****.

Yes, I literally watched it hit 57.80 after hours and didn't sell. Like a tool I believed that we'd see a run up in the coming dates.

**** FB.

I honestly cannot fathom the torment and anguish you must be experiencing right now.

The market is a finicky *****.

FB looks to be off lows this morning. I had a love-hate relationship with ORCL when I picked it up and watched it burn me too much. I had invested enough after buying down multiple times that after it hit my breakeven point I was out. I washed my hands of that mess. Do I still own it somewhere in my funds? Probably. Their growth these days is only by acquisition.

I dumped ORCL years ago.

FB is now down AGAIN. Goddam this stock. The market can't decide what a good result is.

I'm getting wrecked by TAN. I know it's a long term play so I'm not really sweating it, but being down 12% after a week kinda really blows.

I've never gotten into solar, every time I considered buying First Solar I would watch the stock make a massive slide and skip it. I considered it in 2010 and i'm very glad I did not buy it. The stock has slid 65% since 2010, however the overall market has risen over 50%. Generally I avoid things that cannot win in a good market.

Yeah I bought too much during hype time, didn't get any big positions though so only minor loss at the moment

Solar in the past couple years was terrible, what with all the major competition from Chinese firms and the not-so-compelling-savings from solar. That's changed drastically, however, just in the past year or so. We're making strides in reducing the cost per watt and demand is absolutely skyrocketing. It's definitely a mid-to-long term play and I'm going to sit tight.

Unfortunately, it's my second biggest position :(.

Gents, thoughts on the stock market exhibiting bubble-like tendencies? Some are saying that a massive correction is due due to the artificial pumping of money into the market by QE, whereas others are saying that that belief is overplayed.

Regardless, I plan to take my 401(k) out of my S&P index once QE ends next year.
