Shorts are going to get Ned Starked now. Broke 5 dollars this morning like nothing.

Got into GLUU after hours (although not as much as I requested).  First time something popped like that immediately after I bought it.  fistbump.gif

When do you think it's a good time to go in more?  On a end of day dip?  Later?  NOW NOW NOW?

Eh....I don't know man, honestly. When I bought this I bought into a runup like this and the next day it tanked, eventually to two dollars something. Best to buy after the frenzy when (if) it gets walked down.

Seems to volatile right now to make a decision with a clear head.

I'd check to see what's up close to the end of the trading day. If we are solidly holding 5, I'd add some probably, but if it starts to get walked down to the high fours, I'd wait...but I just am not sure right now

ah no worries, I went to buy more after I posted.  It's a buy-product from my fast shopping/kopping fingers--both good and bad.  Not a big portion of my portfolio, so it's all good--just fun to watch.

You should have a price target set that you are aiming for and sell it when it hits that target or reevaluate. So in terms of buying that would mean how much return are you expected to get. If it's still a lot then technically anytime is good to buy. Going off your recent posts, I'd say hold off a bit until you figure out why you bought the stock in the first place and how it sits within your portfolio.

Yeah and as bullish as I am on this stock, be prepared to hold while underwater. It's very volatile. The beta is insane for this one.

edit: I can't predict the future, but think once this is able to close over 5, its all over for the shorts. Funds have been wanting in since addition to the Russel 2k last year, but 5 is the magic minimum share price for them to buy in to.

I think today is going to be the day for that, but, I have been headfaked before several times. Still held, and will still hold here even if we close at 4 and high change.

Yeah I was debating when it was just under 3 at the start of the year. Didn't end up buying as I've never really had confidence in game stocks. Should have picked up a thousand shares or so though just to speculate. I don't think anybody expected Zynga to buy draw something, it's already declining now I think in terms of the new user and active user metrics.

Yeah, the fact that Zynga blundered and bought that POS company ended up being a catalyst for GLUU is ....well.....just imagine what kind of catalyst FB's IPO pricing will be for GLUU heh.

Nah, I dumped it at $3 Monday. 65% gain is plenty for me. There is probably more room to run and may day trade it a few times on dips on the run up to approval.

Nice gains on GLUU Javyn.... good call

Thanks for all the advice.

Personally, I really like the gaming app industry.  I would buy Zynga if I could stomach the volatility, but I can't.  I think they are a really flawed Company in terms of culture, but I do also think they will have a great deal of success (but ultimately fail).  (Now, I'm in GLUU, I'm a little nervous, but I do have faith).

I definitely believe there is a gaming addiction out there and people get fed just like how people line up for Starbucks everyday.  I don't think gaming is going away anytime soon, and we're definitely just on the forefront of app gaming.  I also do think Zynga will make more acquisitions.  Their in-house policy has always been to blatantly copy anything popular and then distribute it more aggressively.  Now that they have IPO money, they will simply just buy out their competition without much thought (omgpop).

Big fight for 5 bucks going on now, watching intraday chart and L2 .

Thanks, idfnl, but my gains today are just like my losses I held through last year....unrealized heh. Can't make up my mind what to do, so I'm resorting to doing nothing and holding my shares.

I'm not fooling myself, IMO this is all one giant bubble inflating. FB, Zynga, GLUU, all of it. I don't care though I want in LOL. I'd like to get some QPSA in my account before FB prices as well.

Difference is coffee is relatively cheap to produce and for many a necessity in life. Games just don't provide the same margins plus you have to keep updating / changing. Starbucks can sell the same cup of coffee for 20 years and the demand / addiction stays the same. Farmville can't sit there for 20 years unchanged. Kinda bummed I didn't buy any starbucks last fall, we created a valuation for the company for a group project and my group was all i-bankers and me and our valuation was $55 for 2012 vs Goldmans $44.

No. Its too dag gone "one hit wonderish". You have to remember that OMGPop was around even before Zynga and their biggest hit has been a recycled version of pictionary.
