Casino Royale Poker Cufflinks — Interest?

I contacted a company in the UK about making replicas of the S.T. Dupont 5244 cufflinks - A.K.A. the cufflinks Bond wore in Casino Royale playing poker. The cufflinks are sold out everywhere, and the few pairs that are available are around £1200-£2000. Their starting price is £400 for bespoke cufflinks, but I contacted them and got the price brought down to £196 shipped to your door.If you're willing to take part let me know in this thread. I'll try and take a count each day. There will be slight variations in the cufflinks (the fittings) from the original, but overall, the front part will be virtually indistinguishable from the original. They will be made in hallmarked solid sterling silver and there will be no '007' logos on them! Just so we are clear, these are the cufflinks that are going to be reproduced:

Switch them from a toggle back to a solid back. God I hate toggle backs, infact the only toggle backs I've seen that I've liked are the ones from RL since you cannot tell that they are toggle backs.

Thinking of having them made double-sided. What's wrong with toggle backs?

agreed...not sure why i hate toggle backs..but I just dont like em.

in my experience they can end up breaking but the better quality ones are usually ok

Well, these being hallmarked sterling silver I would hope they would hold up.

In my experience, the material does not matter but it is the little pin in the "hinge" that breaks. I much rather prefer the solid backs as well, I have a pair of Tiffany links that are solid that my unborn kids will get someday.

Yes, the guy who tried to make the 'legal argument'—if you could even call it that—is the same guy trying to sell the original cufflinks for £1,200. Take from that what you will.

Quite honestly, for those of us living in the states, you can get them made by a jeweler in silver for about half that price. And if you're traveling anywhere in Asia, say India or Singapore, you can get them made for about a quarter of the price. Not that I don't applaud your intentions...

Sure, you could have a set made up if you had the correct measurements, the small details that will make these cufflinks look correct and know a bespoke jeweller capable of it all. By all means, do that if you have that. However, no one has done it up to now—and it's not because they're in short demand.

Please don't get me wrong -- I think it's a great idea. I just think that there are better options for those of us not in the UK at that price point.

My point is that you don't have the requisite measurements or details that will make these cufflinks an accurate copy. I do. And having that information, the number is £196.
