C&J last 348 and 236 vs 341 - Page 2

Well, that's why there are many different lasts out there. Some people just don't use the opportunity. If one pre-selects a last, size (and maybe width) are the only parameters one can tweak to get an acceptable fit. Consequently, sizes and withs differ for each wearer. I've come to the opinion, that it's better to pre-select your true size if possible and try different lasts. This way, one gets a fitting shoe. I agree, except for the multiple sizes bit.

Yes, this is what I'm thinking...anyone know how much it costs to ship shoes back to Pediwear in the UK? I believe the US Post Office charges $30.

236 is from my experience narrower than 348. 9D US on 236 was too narrow for me. 8E UK on 348 fits me well.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a 9D US is an 8.5E UK, so you had to size down to an 8E UK in the 348 last?

I think 9D US is 8E UK in C&J.

On average, there's a full size difference, ie. a (UK) 8 equals a (US) 9. At least, according to the data.

I guess, Andy would confirm this now.

Hi gentlemen, im gonna bump this thread to see if i can get an answer... i own Northcotes in 348 last and i sized down 1/2 from us11d to a uk10.5e, the shoes fit me really well but have lots of room in the front which i dont mind, Now i ordered the Peal&CO cordovan boot in 341, i treated it like my last purchase and sized down 1/2, I am not sure whether BrooksBrothers used a US sizing on their website. Should i worry that these wont fit me? seems like everyone treated 341 last same as 348 last, thoughts?
