Just saw this. Let's just say that I was not a fan of walking before I saw this movie and seeing it didn't help change my opinion. Anyway, I thought the cinematography was solid and the pacing worked well, it was two hours but didn't feel like it. As always, Jim Sturgess and Ed Harris put in another masterful performance. The supporting cast of the three other lads was also really good. Maybe the weakest role was Colin Farrell's. I felt his character was not Russian enough, but it wasn't terrible and he salvaged it. Didn't really care much for the character of the girl, but I think this was a deliberate choice on the part of the writers and made the ending a bit easier emotionally (no spoiler). One part that annoyed me was when one of the characters disobeys a guard and walks away from everyone else while on work detail. In real life they would have shot before he took two steps, not let him just saunter off. Oh well. Post your thoughts here, etc.
