Stylish, non-slip winter boots?

Jumping the seasonal gun, in my city we get rain into December, mixed with a lot of sub zero temperatures and plenty of snow. In the spring, too many freeze-thaw cycles. It makes for a lot of ice...

After seeing another post here regarding Blundstones and ice, I'm wondering if there are any fashionable, warm, durable (able to withstand ice and tons of road salt) boots for winter that can grip ice? Any Canadians/Scandinavians/Northern Americans with suggestions?

crepe soles do really well with ice. that said, red wings? i've never owned them, but they've got models w/ crepe soles. wallabees are good for icy sidewalks, but not deep snow.

wallabees on icy sidewalks is like wearing ice cubes strapped to your feet.

I'm a Canadian and just picked up a pair of RM Williams. I went for the "Gardener " model in dark brown. They have a sturdy rubber sole, are waterproof, and seem indestructable. Kind of expensive, although they are made in Australia and are leather lined.
