Got dragged to the movie. Even she didn't like it.
The film is remarkable for how unlikable it makes the female protaganist. It essentially begins with Julia Roberts in bed during a rainstorm, deciding that her beautiful life just isn't good enough. So she dumps her new hubby, who seems a perfectly OK chap, and runs off. Naturally, she finds answers to her Wealthy White Woman's Problems by spending a lot of money to learn the Wisdom of Non-Wealthy Non-White People.
It's pretty gag-inducing.

There seems to be a particular (and large) class of Westerners that fall prey to this. It's not a new trend either, I think I can remember Bertrand Russell even making a comment along this line. It's very puzzling to me.
