By rule of thumb, Loakes are usually quite large fitting, so you usually go down a size or half a size for them. So while I usually wear a UK 10 or 9.5, for Loakes I wear a UK 9. I think UK 10 is roughly a US 10.5, but keep in mind that they Loakes are likely to be a wee bit bigger than a typical UK10. I don't know how that translates to a US size, or if it is still within the margins of a US 10.5. International shoe sizes only roughly correspond in some translations, some overlap when compared. For example a UK 10 and Euro 44 are often put together, but one's slightly larger than the other, I can't remember which. I have seen a table comparing international shoe sizes and they do not have exact equivalences in all cases. This one suggests that they do, but I have seen others with overlaps.

Going by this, if a typical UK 10 is a US 10.5, then a typical UK 10 Loake may be in practice/fit a US 11. Bear in mind that they do stretch, so don't worry if they seem a wee bit snug at first. They are hard to break in, but wear beautifully and become very comfortable.
My suspicion that Loakes are a large fit was confirmed by the gents running the shop from which I'm hiring suits for my groomsmen (getting married in just under 2 weeks!). The shop hires out Loakes with their suits and they had to go a size down for all the guys.
I own two pairs of Loakes myself. A pair of black lace-up oxfords (toe cap style) and a pair of plain (black) six eye lace-ups, for regular use. I know some folks will not be happy until they spend the price of a small car on shoes (see Church's etc), but I think that Loakes represent a great quality shoe for a reasonable price. They have a fantastic, shiny finish and wear well.
