Man of Steel (2013) - Page 22

I can live with the changes to Superman's classic costume designs, but find the rest a little too busy and overdone for my taste.

Weird seeing it w/o underwear over the tights but I'm sure it'll look much better on screen. I like Faora costume, I think it's just right considering it's a battle armor. Jor-Els costume does look a bit busy but again I think it'll work fine on the big screen plus he won't be on the screen much of the film anyways.

I like the \S/ though along with the suits texture.

I still wish this film wasn't pushed back.

Not sure how I feel about the texture. They did the same thing with the old Spider-Man films and it felt unnecessary.

I like the texture because it adds a bit of depth and heft, it doesn't make it look like as simple as a spandex.

I like the giant cape and it's placement too.

Cape is not bad at all. Overall it is growing on me. Funny how they modeled the "New 52" version off the movie.

Cape does look solid. Not a fan of the "textured-for-the-sake-of-change" - ala Spiderman, and even Cap. Not a fan of the suit w/o undies... as well as that spine running up the side of the thigh... confused.gif

Cap has always had texture to his costume.

I like the texture but the decoration going down the leg makes his thighs look wider.

I don't think Supermans suit is just changed for the sake of changing, Snyder wanted to give it a more alien-like feeling. I think by the end of the film he might have his more traditional suit but we'll see. Plus the new 52 suit (which this was based on) has some texture or at least details to separated it from the old ones.

Plus it probably wouldn't be that noticeable in film. Rouths suit also has subtle texture in SR but you really would not be able to tell.

At least this Superman wouldn't look lanky or frail.

Texture on Caps suit? He's uniform has always been "scaly", it's like his chainmail.

And even more emphasized these days.

I do wish they tried to pull off the look in film. I like the texture they used on Thors sleeves, a smaller version of the scales could have worked well.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question ‘Why am I here?’ Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Now what the heck? I was under the impression this wasn't a retcon/reboot.

Don't get me started on that... ffffuuuu.gif

Have you seen ASM yet JM?

I mean even Rambo liked the film and didn't mind the reboot/retelling of his origins. Snyders take on Supermans might not be so bad, the first origin movie came out 34 years ago, 35 by the time this film comes out.

Yeah, but Superman's a story everyone knows. There have also been a bunch of tv shows since then based on the character too. Maybe it won't be a bad reselling, but I doubt it would be useful.

Haven't seen spider-man yet. Maybe this week.

I like the texture. It gives it a feeling of out of earth materials.
