Ok this has probably been asked before, humour me. I'm toying with picking up a Barbour jacket on my next trip to NYC, most likely at Orvis, maybe the Barbour store depending on my schedule. I'm 5'10" and a size 44, tried a Bedale on in the Toronto J. Crew store and it fit nicely. I'm on fence between the Bedale or Beafort, I plan to wear it over a navy blazer or sport jacket on occasion. Thoughts?

If you want it to cover a SC, Beaufort's the better choice. its a bit longer and doesn't have a tight cuff like the bedale.

Wondering if I could get some advice.  I'm a 42R in a blazer.  I have a 43 inch chest, 5'10".  Wondering what size I should get in either a Beaufort or Bedale?  Would I likely be the same size in each coat?

If you read a couple posts up there is some discussion regarding size. I would say that the Beaufort and Bedale are sized the same. I would try a 42 or 40 if I were you.

Keep in mind if you don't remove the patch now that the rest of your jacket will fade, but not the section underneath it.

OK.. I followed the advice I received on this board and picked up a Bedale online at Bloomingdales on sale - The problem is that they only carry the jacket in black. I think I have more interest in Sage so now I have to find someone that will let me exchange a legit US-Sourced Jacket for another color. Any ideas?

how did you tailor it? just put in darts on back?

i tried on a 34 in the a7 intl and it still felt huge in shoulders and boxy in chest (im normally a 36 suit size small in most brands)

i wonder if i should keep a 34 and wash/dry it for shrinkage or go for 32 OR get a 34 and tailor it -__-

A few days in with my new Beaufort, I have to say I prefer the Sylkoil over the Thornproof, which I owned in the past.
Also I like Olive a lot better than Sage.
Could not be happier with my purchase.

Can you expand on why you like the Sylkoil better - is it less waterproof than the thornproof? Is the olive much different in color than the sage???

I've been wearing the shot out of my skyrol since I got it 2 weeks ago. I love it and will take the waist in slightly once the spring hits and I won't ware it every day like I have bee.
