My 9 y/o in his Sapper purchased this year. It's even raining. It's been "claimed" by a dozen of our friends for their kids when he outgrows it.

 

 

Funny how a kids fit is pretty close to the Adult. One thing I noticed is, the sleeve for the Adult version is much thicker than the kids.

He looks awesome, but I think it's insane to buy a kid something so expensive, assuming you bought it new. Lands End or Bean, maybe. I've bought my kids some Brooks stuff, but only used off of Ebay.

Ah, so what? You're only a kid once. and he looks stoked wearing it. Whats a few dollars when creating childhood memories. Life is too short for that kind of logic.

Thanks a lot. Unfortunately, I just moved to a new area and I don't really know of a place around to go try it on so I guess I will gamble on a 36 Bedale and hope for the best. 

 

 

Can anyone compare the sizing of the Bedale and Ashby models? Are they sized similarly?

Has anyone had sleeves shortened on a Bedale? If so, how did it turn out? I'm trying to figure out whether to keep or return the Bedale I recently bought and the biggest issue I have is that the sleeves are about 2'' too long. Since there is the wrist liner I am not sure how this would turn out if I had the sleeves shortened.

I'm trying to decide between The Ashby and The Burnell coats. Both are "modern reworks of the classic Bedale" but I don't really know what that means. From pictures I can see the Ashby is a bit slimmer - but is it the same dimensions as the Burnell? The Burnell has a stand-up collar, which I think I prefer to the corduroy. Also: where can I get one of these rather new jackets on the cheap?

Who pops their collar on the bedale and who keeps it down? Just curious.

I think it looks stupid if it isnt popped. So I've been popping mine. Its such an awkward width that it doesnt look right when folded down imo.

It has also been in the low 30s on my walks to work so it does actually make sense to have it up, sometimes with the top colar button utilized.

Mine stays down on my Beaufort.

Quick update on my Beaufort.
Size 34 was the right choice.
For anyone interested, I'd advise to size down one.

I pop the back and fold the front tips.

Edit: So is my Bedale considered small for me because the flap attached to the collar doesn't fit around my head?
