I have chased for a refund and initially received responses to my emails however when pressing they simply stop responding.

Makes me laugh that they actually had the nerve to ask me to recommend their website to my friends - so here i am NOT recommending their website. They are selling counterfeit goods - please AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

www.barbourjacketstyles.com are selling fakes.

I hope your credit card company will work with you.

Pictures of the jacket? I'm actually curious what kind of stuff those websites put out.

www.barbourjacketstyles.com are selling fakes.

TIP: You can often tell where your Barbour is likely to be coming from by doing a whois search on the site in question.

http://www.whois.net/whois/barbourjacketuks.com

City : GuiYang
Province/State : GuiZhou

I'd be interested to see the kind of Barbour they have in that particular region. Post some pics.

BTW you'd better check your credit card statements, because there's probably someone in Guiyang driving their car around at your expense.

Sorry you fell for that scam. How much did they charge you for the fake? Please do post some pics - would be interested to see what you ended up with.

does barbour ever go on sale anywhere?

thinking about starting a hunt for the bond jacket (yes i know), but not in a hurry now.

or is it one of those styles that's needed year round so it never goes on sale?

A lot of Barbour goes on sale, but as that jacket is regularly sold out and was trading used for more than the new ones I think the chances of picking one up cheaply are limited...

No shit.  Their website is riddled with grammatical errors and their only contact info is an email address.

Not a scam: countryattire.com

This one looks more promising.

city: Buxton
state: Derbyshire
postal-code: SK17 6HF
country: GB

And their English appears to be OK as well.

There are plenty of legitimate Barbour retailers out there. A bricks and mortar address, non-mobile telephone contact and an email that's not from a free isp is the minimum to look for, and cuts out 95% of the fake Chinese sites. If you are ordering from outside the UK do note that Barbour do try and restrict supply lines and don't allow a lot of the UK sellers to ship overseas.

That kind of figures. It is a famous luxury brand and they want to try and keep it as exclusive as possible. And because Barbour it is a desirable famous luxury brand it does come in for some rather heavy counterfeiting.

It's a bit like LV, Burberry or Armani really....China loves Barbour, and Barbour loves China. The real mcoy is popular with the nouveau riche, and they'll pay top-prices for it. While the supermarkets, flea-stalls and night-markets are filled with lookalikes and knock-offs.

They are legit. Have bought from them in the past.

Just picked up a Made in Tunisia Barbour Sapper. Can't say I'm thrilled with the quailty of the fabric or construction. The Chinese could probably make just as good of a knock-off of this jacket. I still may keep it because it looks decent and was well discounted. I would not consider paying regular retail for the jacket.

I had a Barbour Longstone that was made in Bulgaria and the Surtees model. The quailty of those jackets seemed much better. Regardless Barbour quailty appears to be compromised on some of their products.

Most of RRL is made in China and the quailty of most of those pieces is just as good as any Barbours I have handled.

Has anyone seen / handled the Blast Jacket? Kind of interested...

looks like i might be better off going to a brick and mortar like orvis or a barbour store.  luckily i'm in chicago and have a few options.

I'm in Chicago also. Orvis only seems to carry the classic styles. Other than that I have seen a few at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom may also carry a couple of styles. I believe there is a Barbour store in the city. Please let me know if there are other places in town.

With the fit and quality being all over the place buying at B&M is a good idea.
