Looking for a nice pair of Driving Gloves

In an old issue of Metro Pop I saw a nice pair of tan leather driving gloves by the name of Paisley & Vash....cant find any info on them...

Any other recommendations?

www.bensilver.com usually has a few pairs. I think there are also some on their factory outlet site (there's a link from the main page).

Those are really most useful for cars with the Nardi/Momo wooden wheels or the thin bakelite steering wheels.

However, I understand that Sermoneta has them.

Chester Jeffries will make them to your specification. And given their pricing, it might be cheaper than buying RTW.

Are these crap? Awesome? Middle of the road? Any insights are appreciated, as the price is right, and very tempting.

These look pretty good although the crap photography doesnt do the color any favors. I like dunhill's ones - often in intersting colors too. But pricey.
My faves are the string back riding gloves with leather palms like these sign of a real man in 1960s england. Provided he had one of the cars listed below.

Those look quite nice.

Contrary to popular notion, driving gloves are worn in the summer when the heat does not give good grip on the wheel.

i got some at pepboys they were leather on the hand and on the back is a really nice airy mesh and its real comfortable with velcro for easy to get em off you shud also try ta cover your steering wheel they got all kinds of stuff for that nowadays and it makes driving better and your response times faster

I think a lot of the question is what you want them for.

For a cool look the half glove in leather with padded palm (like old 1/2 golf gloves) are cool as are supple thin leather gloves.

For workmanlike useful gloves a simple set of Mechanix gloves from the auto part store would work swimmingly well. Kinda like a wrestling shoe makes a wonderful driving shoe since the sole is so thin that you get a lot of peddle feel with an economical cost.

For real driving the nomex gloves (like the nomex driving shoes) give you both fire resistance and a good glove. The nomex gloves really seem too thick to give a great steering wheel feel but it is amazing how comfortable they feel at speed and in traffic.

All driving gloves are definitely not alike. Some have much finer, more supple leather. You want to find some that have very thin, supple leather, and you want them to be somewhat form-fitting. I have a pair from Saks that are fantastic. I've seen some by Ralph Lauren that seem nice. Paul Stuart sells some too that I would not hesistate to buy if I needed a pair.

Driving gloves seem to be pretty close to impossible to find, unless you are willing to spend a high end amount. Department stores always used to have them in men's sections and a lot of the time in women's sections, this year I've seen none in either anywhere. Thankfully I have a few pairs.

The aforementioned dunhill gloves are by far my favorite and although it may be a bit poseur-ish, I like the look of perforated driving gloves with an overcoat. It all seems very Dr. No henchmen to me, which is a look I try and strive for . The attached dunhill motorities are 95 pounds. A bit much for me, but look really terrific and not overly affected. And I also think you can wear driving gloves with any number of classic Alfa Romeo's as well!
