I have good luck at authorized dealers in Hong Kong ... 40+% off.

It's been a couple of years since I picked up a new one ... but I recall Prince Jewelry. They also offered me a good deal on Breguet.

RSS - which dealer/location in HK did you go to, to get 40% off? Also - how did you go about it (the negotiations I mean)?

I'd go with JLC. Mine retailed for 11,800 and paid 8500 for it so you should be able to find one that you like in your price range. Great watch, everything made in house.

I used one very close to the Peninsula Hotel. My approach -- at Prince or anywhere -- is as follows: "I'm looking for an IWC Fleigerchronograph (just insert your preferred brand and model here). I'm compairing prices at several shops and am prepared to buy today. What is your best price?

Much depends on the demand for a particular piece. If the demand is high and the availability rare, the dealer is much less likely to offer a bargain price. But if the shop has stock, and you won't be demanding a lot of their time as you are prepared to buy NOW ... you stand a good chance of getting a deal. BUT, you really must be prepared to buy and not take a lot of their time. They want a quick and easy deal.

I just found a receipt for one purchase ... but it's not as recent as some others. It's Prince Jewellery and Watch Company, 60 Nathan Road.
