Bourdain did do an episode. THey went for sushi in Marysville

Honda of America is in Marysville so I imagine with all of the Japanese execs, it is a good place.

Speaking of Katzinger's:

It hit the spot! Reuben minus the sauerkraut on sourdough.

My grandfather worked at HoA for years and still lives up around there, and +1 on the Asian food in that area, it's pretty good considering it's in the middle of the corn fields. It ain't Tokyo, but it's not the worst I've seen in the midwest.

I'm not going to lie.. I'm still a little skeptical. Honda execs likely demand good stuff, but it's a 2 day journey from ocean to Tsujiki to California to Ohio... there's just gotta be a small degradation in fish quality.

Before these Japanese mom & pop restaurants showed up, sushi really sucked here. My favorite is Mr. Sushi in Gahanna. Though in a strip mall, it is good. These little shops totally cater to Japanese clientele. American diners are a bonus to them.

All in all, the Japanese food is pretty good here. The Chinese food really blows. It is rare in my opinion to have Japanese food consistently outrank Chinese food in a midwestern city but it does!!

I used to have some friends that worked at Haiku. That was the only sushi I ever really ate in C-bus and it was over-priced and so-so. I can't remember any decent Chinese food. Just to feed the crave, I would hit Mark Pi's from time to time.. but that's Cauc-Asian at best. People used to talk about that pacific club up on 23 and 270. I also had a classmate in Engineering school (shocker) who worked at a takeout place at sawmill/bethel. When he gave me off-the-menu stuff, it was solid. There is good Korean, tho. I find that Korean food usually caters to a 90% Azn crowd, and therefore must be good no matter where you go.

What is a Reuben minus the sauerkraut? Corned beef sandwich with russian dressing? That's like a woman with no boobs, a car with 2 wheels, just doesn't make sense.

You sound like a young guy, so check out Blue Danube for lunch. A OSU dive bar institution. I moved from Columbus in 98, so my recs are probably out of date, but there should be no problems finding stuff to do down there. Tons of restaurants, shopping, etc. It isn't NY or Chicago, but plenty to do in between hump sessions.

Definetly hit Rigsby's if you have a chance. Second the Burgundy Room and check out Lindey's in German Village great place for a drink and the food is excellent.
