I believe Steed's image gallery still contains some of his pictures (the ones with his face masked out).

Say what you will, the man had keen wit and his intelligence was anything but "perceived". I particularly miss those posts when the likes of Vox would expound upon interesting trivia or adventures, sartorial or otherwise, accompanied by photographs (the Swiss Army Suit or the anatomy of the 7 fold tie come to mind). Moreover, Vox had some wonderful insights into certain places and times in our society (the gilded age comes to mind) that was very educational.

It was far from hero worship -- it was admiration, plain and simple, of a well dressed and well rounded man with the intellectual prowess to match. It's not often that one stumbles upon such. At least not
on these boards.

+ infinity. Vox was full of insight and knowledge. In short, he was...is the ducks nuts.

cosigned. and of course, he had to have been ducking nuts to have spent so much time here.

You're part of the Sartorial Opus Dei...

Any interesting inky blue fabrics in your wardrobe?

No. I saw your post on the point, but am afraid I can't help. I have a nice mid-blue (slighly greyed) birdseye ... but nothing in a solid inky blue. I plan to follow that thread.

You know, Lasbar, I ran into a gentleman the other day who was impeccably dressed in what looked like a deep shade of Royal/Turkish blue ink-colored DB suit with dark blue pinstripes. It looked rather striking. Unfortunately, he was a rather senior executive and it would have been awkward to broach the topic of the material of his suit in the presence of our mutual colleagues. I'm hoping that if and when I run into him the next time, I would ask him for the details.

Next up from Steed? Two jackets in W. Bill handwoven Donegal, done up with three patches, front cut, swelled edges, and three to two, with the more swept fronts that I'm doing on Steed SBs. I took delivery last week of a fantastic Steed DB in black Lesser Golden Bale with a faint gray windowpane: handsomely SF-unfriendly.

For those of you with kind words, thank you. For those of you with unkind words?

Well done, but work on your technique.

I thought Vox/F.Corbera moved from House of Steed to Napoli Su Misura for his bespoke needs? What gives?

What I do recall is what I posted above. He was the Dennis Miller of this board. In so much hurry to demonstrate his hilarious wit and self perceived intelligence any value in what he had to say was lost. Whenever I saw him contribute to a thread it almost always caused me to groan inwardly and very rarely offered anything germane to the point being discussed. I have to wonder if before my time he was some kind of maven who drowned in jealousy once a significant chunk of igents found their way to this board and were able to approach and even eclipse his own level.

Now I do miss lufty and his vintage choices, and haven't seen many of TC's classy cuts lately.

You are such a pussy. I needed to say that.

Sorry, that was a joke referencing Vox's bear coat.
