Nice shoes. These are at least 15 years young. I got them when I graduated from university and these were my first pair of nice shoes. They are still going strong!

Awesome pair of vtg AEs, they really are a cut above today's output especially on the "fit n finish". To be fair though I have never seen a plastic welt on a MacNeil or any other AE.

Check out the recent ones. AE switched to a plastic/rubberized welt, at least on the MacNeil. It has been theorized that the new welt is better at "waterproofing" the shoes, but it just feels cheap to me.

I think the dreaded "pm sent" is the writer's attempt at obtaining "right of first refusal" to make the purchase. Kind of like leaving a lawn chair in a parking spot on a city street after major snowfall. If they later decide to use it (buy the item), it'll be saved for them.

Of course it doesn't REALLY mean anything more than a free bump for the seller...

I seldom wish for longer feet (well, except for the whole "comparison thing"...) but this is one of those times.

Beautiful skids.
