Packers Superbowl XLV - Page 2

The Packers have looked great and I think they are a talented team on a good roll. But as for saying they have beaten the two other top teams in the NFL, not sure where you get that. I assume you mean the Pack would be the best so that leaves Atlanta and Philly? The Bears? That division was not great and the Bears are not that great. The Packers have been very inconsistent all season, which is why the Coach has gotten so much critism in his own State. They should have blown out the Bears. And not sure how you can say that about the Philly defense which has been maligned for most of the year and had the defensive coordinator fired immediately after they were done.

If the Packers show up like they played against Atlanta, they can beat the Steelers but I think the AFC was the tougher playoff road this year.

Congratulations on the win.

The Packers looked great in the first half. They were awful in the 2nd. Seriously, a 3rd string QB almost tied them up, if not for Shields being the man.

GB and Pitt are the best of the playoff teams so it will be a great game. Not sure I would call GB the fave though

Based on what metrics, exactly? PIT was #1 in DEF PPG with 14.5 vs. PHI at #21 with 23.6. PIT was #2 in DEF YPG with 276.8 vs. PHI at #12 with 327.2 PIT 48 sacks, PHI 39. PIT 35 turnovers, PHI 34.

I stand corrected- it was the offensive numbers I quoted.

^Makes more sense. Eagles were a mess on D this year.

It's possible that Green Bay runs Pittsburgh out of the stadium like they did to Atlanta last week. Pittsburgh is not built for a shootout. I think it is more likely that we get a back-and-forth game with Mendenhall keeping the Green Bay offense on the sidelines. Ben pulls the game out in the final minutes again.

bens ability to forcibly "seal the deal" using his talent, size, and strength is the reason he can win huge games like that, also works equally well in sex assault.

GO PACK GO. Green Bay yesterday during the game was an eerie place; the traffic was the same as it would be early in the A.M., everywhere after 3pm was dead quiet and my store closed early for the game. I can't imagine the drinking and looting that will happen when we win this shit.

This is true.

Way too much homerun derby with the Green Bay O, making them inconsistent, leave points on the field and go 3 & out in critical situations.

If the pack can hold up to Harrison and Woodley, I like their chances. But Harrison, more than anyone, scares me. Stopping mendenhall will be the other key to the game for GB, IMO.

I actually like Clay Mathews and Woodson on the blitz against big ben as both are smart enough to go for the strip and not just bounce off the big tree. Shields is a good matchup for sanders.

Should really be a heck of a ball game. Would rather be the underdog against the Steelers as that group of players has historically found powerful motivation when being disrespected.

The Steelers *by far* were the more impressive team yesterday. Did you see that first half? The offense went into stall mode in the second half. Yes the Jets scored 19 unanswered but the Steelers had 24.

The Packers looked good too, but the Steelers at the start of yesterday's game, they just buried a very good Jets team. No one has played a more impressive half of football this season. The second half, with the enormous lead to slowly deflate, was garbage time by comparison.

The Super Bowl is a weird place to be. Newcomers will be rattled, and the first half will slip away real fast on them. The Steelers' playoff experience makes for a big edge. Ben is 10-2 as a playoff QB, and has already won 2 rings.

I see the Super Bowl looking like that AFC Championship game ... Steelers go up early and then, in the second half, the Packers make it close while the Steelers attempt to run out the clock.

Mendelhall was on fire yesterday. Goodluck Packers if that carries over into the 6th
