DOn't go into consumerism debt. If you're waking your AZZ up every morning just to pay off the debt from your clothing, that debt or clothing owns your life!

Beating the crap out of your clothes gives them character, especially raw denim. Don't worry about it too much.

I didn't until about September, but I stocked up on a bunch of stuff at the beginning of last season, including a bunch of deadstock from 04-05 I got the pick of, which included a couple of Jil Sander cashmere (and cashmere blend) cardigans. Also got a patchwork cardigan from a couple of seasons ago that I had to throw in the wash to shrink up. There seems to be at least a few pieces in every season.

You end up wearing the same things over and over again, though. I think that, not including clothing in storage, I could probably wear a different jacket every day of the month, but I always go back to a few things, A WWM Miane jacket from 2008, my newest Geller jacket, and a Geller jacket from FW07. Men are creatures of habit, I think.

Different jacket every day of the month? Thanks for giving me an excuse to buy more jackets!

It seems extreme, right? But it's actually not that hard to accumulate. You buy 2 jackets at the start of each season, pick another up mid season, and then succumb to the end-of-season sales. Do this even just a few years, and tada, a few dozen jackets. It's worse with things like shirts, sweatshirts, and sweaters.

That's very true. Its easy to accumulate a sizeable wardrobe. But, however large it gets I always gravitate towards a few pieces over and over again. I was just reading an article about short term and long term cerebral reward center stimulation that I think pertains to this topic...ill try to find a link if anyone is interested.
