1. find a girl who is attracted to you 2. tell you that you are not interested in a relationship/commitment directly before having sex 3. remind them (and yourself) at regular intervals 4. continue relationship without label until it's ultimate self-destruction

I even have to question whether this kind of thing actually happens except in very rare cases. I have never met a woman, other than a prostitute, who was freely willing to give out sex without the need to establish some ridiculous relationship and try to destroy my soul.

Only works in the right situations. Fuck buddy is probably better than FWB. It's extremely difficult to maintain FWB status with someone you see often. It loses it's mistique. Fuck buddy is different. Women want sex just as much, if not more than men. If they're comfortable with you and feel that you're not gonna make them feel like a slut, it's possible. It all depends upon the circumstances. It is totally possible and I think you'd be surprised how many women do it or have done it.

The key point is item 1. In the cases I have seen where it works (sort of, and rarely), the woman wants a relationship w/ the man, but not vice versa. They call it FWB, but the woman ALWAYS wants more. I suppose there are a few women out there that can handle a true FWB, but most are not wired that way.

GT, really? I mean, I first came into contact with the concept in the 80s. Had a friend that had a Jewish FB under the logic that they both got what they needed but could never marry. Think they kept it up on and off for a few years.

Was this thread inspired by the new Natalie Portman movie?

What does this have to do with Black Swan?

Arranging these particular kind of hook ups is not that difficult. The reason guys have problems with this is because they try the benefits thing with the WRONG woman. Plenty of women out there who are just looking for no strings attached relationships. Some of you fools just scare these women away by acting to needy or wanting something more than just a good time (sex).

This. #2 is key, you have to tell them before you hook up otherwise they'll think you're just trying to ditch them. Make it clear from the beginning that you're not looking for anything serious.
