Gotta admit, these are my favorite kind of threads..

zzzzz. Seriously, are you replying with substantive fashion advice? Really? Why spoil the party with this earnestness?

Not that it matters, but it sounds from the article like the father has had those other two kids by a different woman, so I don't think she is their mother...
I don't think so. Look where the OP is from. I just read that book "How Luxury Lost It's Luster" and it has a whole chapter to describe this type of buyer and it seemed like a lot of young asians are just like him in their shopping purchases.

I think he just likes to brag that he can spend a lot of money on clothing.
Reason I ask is that the pic appears to have been taken at the Pavilion in KL...
Just an inane question... and nothing more than that.
Look past the brand. Pay more attention to essentials such as fit and quality of workmanship. Eschew items that transform you into a walking advertisement. Lotsa people in KL wear Hermes, LV etc etc... why dress the same as them eh?
Maybe check out this site as an example and peruse the exquisite sportsjackets there, all now available on-line: www.thearmoury.com.
Also look at their blog, and find the pic of Mark wearing that cool gray Model 184 sportsjacket with a checked blue shirt and dark jeans.
This is what I believe appropriate, stylish, and female-head-turning for a 30-year-old man.
Here endeth the lesson...
P.S. As a Singaporean, albeit one in Oz, I totally understand the South East Asian fixation with luxe brands, so believe me when I say... I know whereof I speak.
