I'm from southern california so its almost time to wear shorts woo lol

Really? Did you call the one you always go to? If the store knows you well they'll generally do it, especially if you're a client and have a personal shopper. Look into it. Dude SoCal? I'm jealous. We have another month of winter. dsoren, I occasionally do that jacket, utility shirt, and jean look and I don't think I look like a 60 year old haha. Then again, I was mistaken for a 16 year old when I renewed my passport.

yeah I called both places I go to, I don't however have a personal shopper.

Damn I hate waiting, the DBs you mentioned earlier they are Clarks right? I think I'll go with size 8s im an 8 in Clarks, 7.5s might be too small

You need to look into getting one. Go meet one and get them to help you with your big birthday purchase. Start building a relationship with them. It's a handy tool seriously.

I have the J. Crew ones. I don't know how the sizing is with Clarks.

I only go down half a size because I either wear thin socks or no socks at all with the bucks.

I will actually look into that,

I guess its better if I go in store and try one of the jcrew branded shoes so I can better decide what size

If your store is big enough, they should have the bucks in by now. However, if you're located near a smaller one, you might have some trouble. I recommend that you order your normal size. I'm one of those weird people that can fit 8.5 and 9s. --_--

Gonna go pick up the new madras shirt this weekend! Woo

I don't think they'll be getting the bucks at all, since they are catalog and jcrew.com only items. I go to the flagship store near Beverly Hills its the biggest one in my area. They have the Gifford Leather Oxfords so they should fit the same as the bucks

Anyone know if there's still a way to get the dress shirts in the old S M L sizing? I have a spread collar dress shirt in XS and it fits better than any other OTR shirt I've tried. Looking for a couple more.

Ok, so I finally got to try on the pair of essential chinos in urban slim and they were horrible. I ordered the proper sizes, but they ended up being way too wide (even for slim fit) and too long. I'm never ordering essential chinos again. I've gone through different two pairs and ended/will end up returning them. Fail

not a fan of the essential chinos myself, i've got some muscular thighs and I think the Broken in Chinos and Stantons fit well. Usually im a 32x30s but I find the 32x32 kinda stack...but now im thinking of just going with 30 inseam as I like to fold/roll my pants and jeans.

I usually stick with those two choices but I figured I should try something new. The essentials definitely blow and I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped selling them.

Ugh so I'm thinking I may need to go ahead and send all my shirts out to a tailor this spring because all but like two of them were like 2-3 inches too long.
frown.gif
I don't even want to think about how much I'm going to need to drop on this. I have like 40 shirts that I never wear untucked.

lol, I pay about 10 per shirt tailored, don't know how much it costs around your area but damn 40 shirts I feel ya. I tend to not tuck my shirt in unless I wear dressier pants. Any who, I just came back from J Crew, called in yesterday and one of the sales persons Michelle put some Gifford Oxfords on for me to try on so I can get the right size for the Suede Bucks. 8 was perfect some room in the toe box but i'd rather it be like that than to have my toes bunched up if I wear to go down half a size. Anyway she helped put in the "Red Phone" order and the girl I was dealing with was a bit rude, got my free shipping and 15% discount though but I was still put off by the girl over the phone. Anyway, Michelle was just awesome, she came over to ask me if everything was good and then she showed me the Trapper Jacket (which I didn't find too appealing, the collar was too thick because of the folded hood, didn't notice this online for some reason). She then commented on my Clark DBs and she recommended me a couple of other jackets that would look good on me. The bellstaf body warmer looked nice but I'm not a fan of nylon, she recommended the cadet jacket, which I already have in black but the hawthorne green is nice as well, not sure if I'm going to opt for that now that the trapper jacket isn't on my list. http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/o...7823/37823.jsp not sure if i missed this one in the store but that looks good. Michelle turned out to be a Personal Shopper so I signed up with her, I told her my bday was coming up and she suggested that maybe I can come with like 3 friends, spend 100 each, my friends get 10-15% off and I get 25%. GREAT IDEA! She also said that she usually calls her other customers when a sale is happening at the store or new rollouts come in. I walked out of there with some new stanton graphite pants in classic fit which I sized down on and fit like an urban fit. Was going to get some shirts but my self control took the better of me. can't wait for my suede bucks! whoooot

Those are Aldens. Apparently they are available in May (though I did see the tan ones available at one of the J Crew Men's Stores last weekend)

This. This is why I like J. Crew compared to other mall brands like BR. I have always felt like the staff at J. Crew are helpful and will give you attention when you need it (but won't be overly clingy either). At BR, Gap, etc., I'm always ignored even when I'm looking for help. The customer service of J. Crew is similar to the customer service at Nordstroms, where I have never had a bad experience. It's like comparing the Apple Store (JC) to Best Buy (BR). You know you'll always get help at one, and be completely ignored and rude to at the other.
