Cold weather Pants/Jeans

Anyone have any recommendations for cold weather pants or jeans. Something to wear commuting on these days that it's less then 10 F. I was looking for a pair of fleece lined jeans but everything I've seen looked pretty frumpy.

I was hoping for an alternative, but probably what I'll end up going with.

The Smartwool stuff is ridiculously warm and comfortable, but a set of tights is ~$150. Underarmor-type stuff is another option, but I never found them as comfortable as wool or cotton flannel.

I don't really like waffle-knit stuff because it's scratchy and starts to stink right away.

was thinking about picking up ll bean signature lined canvas. not many colors and certainly not fancy but I think they look pretty nice and i like the green color. http://www.llbean.com/llbeansignatur...tn&cat4=506147 also bonobos has some lined pants which if you check for sales they might have under 100. good if you want something slim, but with some room in the butt. dont think slim lined pants are too easy to find http://www.bonobos.com/store/item/Fl...ed_Chino_Khaki personally i want a slightly higher rise than bonobos and for my cold weather casual pants to be a little more comfortable which is why i'm thinking about bean

also if you think about how long they will last I could almost convince myself that the iron hearts are a good value, but yea really expensive.

Bought the LLBean pants in 33/30, fit ok in the waist, but the leg width was really big. Ended up returning them and just picked up some long johns.

Heavy wool trousers are great for cold weather, particularly flannel.
