Yes I was very amused that they finally went the right direction with Spidey.
Although I don't like how they are implying that the spider bite wasn't by chance, and rather planned.
Also I don't like how it seems that he gave up his identity to Gwen. If I remember correctly Gwen hated Spiderman for a while.rant
What would really be great, in the longer run, if Gwen dies by the Goblin. I wants to see if culture shock like that exists anymore. Everyone wants to believe the hero always comes out victorious. I want people to see Peter contemplate whether it was his attempt at saving her causing her death or not. People should see the real Peter Parker, in my opinion - the most real and human of all super heroes portrayed in comics. He makes mistakes, he does not always win, people around him that are important die, and he is in many cases powerless to save them.
All the fun, glory, and victory that are in Superhero movies today is getting lame. It is great that Spidey can do acrobatics, it is great that he has a hot girlfriend, it is appealing that he is a nerd/geek that is ripped and has superhuman abilities, it connects - but without the human aspect of it to compensate, whats the point?
