I tip them, but it's still something to think about.

OP and people that think this way: Are you yourselves stingy non-tipping FOBs? Do other people describe you in such terms?

Maybe you just don't want to tip FOBs for coming in here, taking our jobs and not stimulating the economy with their penny-pinching. Not like they'll care, where they're from, tipping is rude anyway.

I give him an IOU. Works for all US-China transactions.

If the place charges a delivery fee of more than $2, I will only tip with whatever coin change is leftover. Those delivery charges are supposed to go at least partially to the driver. Otherwise I'll toss them a couple bucks. I worked as a delivery driver before, and I don't think anybody who does it expects to be rolling in cash after a night of tips.

If I order for 2, generally around $16-20, my tip will be in the $3-4 range. I'll always give a minimum $2 even if the delivery is fairly late. If the guy gives me an attitude while still being late, he gets to keep whatever change is leftover.

If the weather is ****** and I order delivery because I'm lazy, I usually will give the delivery guy (bless his weatherbeaten soul) a fiver.

I worked in a Chinese restaurant once with FOBs. The waiters would be pissed when they get stiffed on tips. They expect the tips as much as white people. Jesus, how is this even a question?

I always tip as I would in a restaurant, 20%. I mean, hell, the guy schlepped it from the kitchen to my house.

+5000 This thread wreaks of ignorance. I have a feeling it's mostly white people who order delivery Chinese anyway considering most of the really good spots, the places Asians actually go, don't deliver (at least around here, not speaking for you lucky NYC bastards who can probably get it).
