Do I dare open a can of worms about the Star Wars original trilogy?

I prefer Star Wars to The Empire Strikes Back like I do Batman Begins over The Dark Knight.

For me:

The Dark Knight > Batman Begins > or = The Dark Knight Rises

not ready through this whole threak but since recently seeing this movie, I am going to assume that I am not the first person saying that the Dark Knight was better than this one and Heath Ledger's joker a better villain than this Bane clown.

Saw the film again a few nights ago on a real imax screen, and i have to say the problems i had the first time around didn't bother me nearly as much the second time around (except for the sound mix). it was an amazing experience.

Sound mixing irked me too. Felt rushed and not in a good way.

Welcome to the other side of 40.

Hugo Weaving under a full mask did a better job with his character then Hardy did with Bane.

Can someone explain Bane to me? He's been trained by the league of shadows, so he's a super ninja. He's buff, so I guess pretty strong. And he's had some shitty reconstructive surgery, so he's continually pissed. But how exactly is he a super bad ass?

Saw it again, great film. Several of the glaring plotholes had some minor filler explanation that I missed the first tiem through.

Bane was an amazing villain.  Was he as charasmatic as Ledger's Joker? Of course not. That's not the type of villain Bane is.  He was an incredibly fast brute, very smart, and very manipulative. He had conviction in what he was doing, and knew that he was goign to complete what Ra's couldn't. He was funny at times, but menacing in almost every line he had.

"Do you feel in charge?"

THAT got the crowd's attention.

You really just have to watch the first fight to answer the question.

Just his quotes alone is badass.
Quote:
Bane: Calm down, Doctor! Now's not the time for fear. That comes later.
Quote:

Bruce Wayne: Why didn't you just kill me?

Bane: Your punishment must be more severe.

Bruce Wayne: Torture?

Bane: Yes, but not of the body. Of the soul. I will build you and Gotham up with hope and then destroy you. Hope is really the key to torture. Gotham will build to a point of joy and then be wiped from the map.

Bruce Wayne: You are a madman.

Bane: When Gotham is ashes... then you have my permission to die.

Quote:
Bane: Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated... but we are initiated, aren't we Bruce? Members of the League of Shadows!

Bane: And you betrayed us!

Bruce Wayne: You were excommunicated... by a gang of psychopaths.

Bane: I am the League of Shadows and I am here to fulfill Ra's al Ghul's destiny! You fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable but mistaken.

Bane: Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark; I was born in it. Molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!

Bane: The shadows betray you, they belong to me.
Quote:
Bane: I will show you where I have made my home while preparing to bring justice. Then I will break you.

Bane: Ah yes, I was wondering what would break first

Bane: your spirit? Or your body?

So he beats up a aging fighter who has a leg brace and no peripheral vision?

Can't get past the insane Gandalf voice. Sorry.
