I think the rope was what was keeping people from escaping. Only Talia and Bruce ever got out of the pit, and it was when they had finally abandoned "fear" and were going ropeless. My impression was that the rope was set up there long ago to deliberately bait the prisoners into thinking it was a way out. I know movies are subjective and what not but..seriously? I can understand someone arguing for TDKR over TDK but Back to the Future III over Back to the Future II is some silliness. Either that or Rambo has influenced you guys something fierce....

While I like all the films, III was a much more enjoyable film then II was.
