This sounds about right to me.

I regularly wear a US/10.5 (Allen Edmond Park Avenue, etc). My Alden's (Barrie last) is a US/10. My Trickers Keswick's and Bourton's are UK/9.5 (they're part of the Country Collection and run 1/2 size too large).

My next Trickers purchase will not be a part of the Country Collection and I'll be ordering size 10.

I am the same. 9 Barrie, 8.5 Trickers Bourton. Both fit well. (Standard width)

I wear a size 12D dress shoe, 11.5D/11E Barrie, and 11UK 5 fitting in my Tricker's Stow

So for the non-country lasts, do people go up .5 compared to C&J? i.e. 8 UK in C&J and 8.5 in Trickers?
I don't. I can fit C&J and Tricker's dress lines in the same size.

so should i size down a 1/2 size from my us barrie? so i'd be a 9 in uk (9.5d us in barrie), seems to be the consensus...

It's hard to figure out last sizes without trying them on. Before ordering, see if any local stores stock them. The fitting of lasts is really subjective.

For example, I'm trying to go the otherway--from Trickers to Alden. I've found my Trickers size to be around an 8.5UK (fitting 6) but today I tried on some Indy Boots in the Trubalance last and found an 8.5US to work pretty damn well. I was really surprised. I didn't get them because I want to try a US 9 to be absolutely sure, but sizing is really dependent.

hi all,
So i'm looking to buy a pair of trickers in the 81 last. In alden, I can wear 11d or 10.5 d in the barrie, and 11d in the van last fits very well.

11d in the barrie fits a smidge too big for my liking...any suggestions on what i should get in trickers on the 81 last?

I have no Aldens, (though I do have Alden-made BB cordovan bluchers in which I wear a 10 US) but I have around five pairs of Trickers. I size down only half a size -- to 9.5UK -- in Stow, chukkas, country brogues. Trickers tend to be plenty wide, but for me a bit short. I also wear a 9.5 UK in JL William and Phillip.

I took the full size advice with my first pair of Trickers and they destroyed my pinky toes.

No Aldens, but I am 10D/E and 9E UK in JL/C&J, 9.5E/F in EG/G&G.

I wear fitting 5 Stow in size 9.
