I am a 10.5 but I like my shoes like my women, tight so that I can break them in.

I seem to be missing a picture over here...where do you see that? Is it in this thread?
I am still trying to figure out how Goodyear and Fatto a Mano go together...
Most Santoni FAMs are certainly not Goodyear-welded. But some are. In Holland you can buy them at € 550 (=$ 450), for example at Sir Max in Amsterdam http://www.sirmax.nl. Sometimes you can find n-G-w at http://www.yoox.com.
; prices between € 200 -300.

Paul

Isn't the euro to dollar conversion 1.3X?

Absolutely beautiful shoes. Rivaling some of the bespoke shoes I have seen and certainly worth $950 in my Santoni experience.

yes , aharris, that is the peculiarness of the santoni us site is the fact that there is no clear definition of their lines . although for the flynn, ford, florence, and fritz i have only seen the handmade fam , never seen them as 'regular' with the regular welt. it may just be a photoshop thing they did? no t sure.

It's just a matter of what the store orders. A particular style can be made with any number of constructions. The Nordstrom buyer was probably shown a Flynn sample and ordered it with a different construction.

Nordstrom say that the Florence model will be coming out again but in a brand new color as well.
it may just be this burgundy/black color or maybe the florence in their CLassics rust color.
if it is rust, i am going to get it.
they said you can preorder any handmade style in any color you want that they have, only thing is it is non returnable when you order it.

You're *killing* me over here. Is there someone in particular you talk to at Nordstrom? When I called, the salesman (men's shoe dept) was less than informed: it took me a while to convince him they actually sold the Flynn.

Minimal if you are calling the South Coast Nordstrom, you can speak to the person who sold it to me, his name is Jack. They usually dont know the shoes by name, you have to describe it to them and give them the price.

Jack is very nice, I like him and he can help you.

diorshoe:

Is the shoe you bought the one that's on the Santoni rack on the very top shelf? I looked at it the other day, and it looks decent from a distance but the leather didn't feel like it was really high quality, I didn't try it on or look that long though because the salespeople were circling like sharks.
