Heh, Girlfriend was actually the first thing I thought of before he said hip-hop.

Loved that video in junior high.

Girlfriend is a badass video.

Yeah, I remember watching an interview with him on MTV where he talked about wanting to do the whole video as an anime but the record label wouldn't let him do it. That's why you see him interspersed throughout it.

+1 for Interstella 5555. Loved it.

DUDE! I remember watching film loops of this when I saw Ken Ishii at a rave here in Chicago back in 97. Loved the sound of those taiko drums bouncing off the warehouse walls. Memories.

How about "Sock it 2 Me"? It's sort of animated, it's a rap video, and it involves space: Actually, you mentioned Todd Mcfarlane, didn't you? Shit, I think I know what you're talking about, but I can't figure it out.

Haha I just watched Sock it 2 Me while looking for this video the other day. Love the Mega Man theme. I doubt it's actually Todd McFarlane because that should be easy to find, but as I recall (and keep in mind this was 10+ years ago so god only knows what that's worth) it had a similar style.

I dunno man. What you're describing sounds an awful lot like those two Deltron videos.

A Boulez fan, too!

I even did bedroom produce amateurish D&B at some point in the late 90es. Should we get a room now?
Pretty ambivalent about Boulez though, what I like most about him is the flamboyant combover flapping around while conducting. Messiaen's better. Or even Henze. But enough nerdery for now.
