Does this setup work? Friend says No - Green socks. Burgundy shoes. Navy Blue suit. - Page 4

I think the socks are great, brown grey and blue (especially in those tones) work great together. Like others though in the thread i think the tie is ugly

I most definitely would wear darker socks, I do not see green anywhere else in your outfit, so green is not justified with such dark colors.  The tie is a bit on the shiny side, though I do not see it as murderous, but I would not wear it.  If you want to look classy and coordinated change the socks, I would not know which mood is green in any case.

After my friend took this picture he promptly said the socks DONT work. I should either match the socks to the color of my pants or the lining of my jacket - ie hot pinkish in this case.

Thoughts?

Do not listen to your friends

The outfit is great

Otherwise, welcome from another newbie, and be not afraid - the locals don't bite - often - and they've all had their shots

Keep the herringbone floors, marble mantle, and mirror. Lose rug, dining table, and chairs. Iffy on bookcase.

in theory, red and green (burgundy & forest in your pic) are opposite colors on the color wheel. So, yes, they can look well together when done right. The shades on your photo work well together.

You look great in the photo because you look like - OMG - yourself!!!!

Most people here try wayyyy too hard.....

And what's will all the comments on the tie?? That wasn't his question......

there's something wrong with the picture - yellow tie.
