Custom White's Boots ... Thoughts?

They would probably be too wide. I'm not sure about smoke jumpers, but semi-dress boots run pretty wide.

Here is a pair of Caiman/Crocodile Leather Smoke Jumper, built on the #461 Last, with Vibram 100 Lug outsole. The upper leather is Black Chrome Excel. Standard Heel Height, Single Midsole, Black Edge.

I had mine lowered 1/4" and they are not high at all.

I had a pair that were the "normal" White's height (arch ease) and I foudn them to be extremely uncomfortable -- sore legs. So I had the next pair cut down by 1/4" and they feel much better. More in line with Red Wing, Alden, etc.

Am the only one who thinks it looks weird with a lowered cuban heel? It looks great on lowered block heel though

You're not alone. I think the lowered heel looks weird on both the standard and the block heel really (though less weird with the block heel maybe). Just not a fan as the boots looks like it's tipping backwards to me. Maybe I've just been looking at regular White's too long.

(also...I think RW GT's heels look way too short too)

1/4 Inch Lowered Cuban Heel with Single Midsole:

1/4 Inch Lowered Cuban Heel with Double Midsole:

In contrast, this is Standard Height Cuban Heel with Single Midsole:

And Standard Height Cuban Heel with Double Midsole:

I think this covers all the possible configurations for the cuban heel.
(Except for the use of Half Soles.)

The 1/4 Inch Lowered Cuban Heel with Single Midsole: [top-most pic] looks about the same height of a single leather sole with no vibram midsole/half-slip at standard height correct?
since the midsole does add up to the overall height.
