This is for Chawk806 because he keeps asking about various boots. LOL

Smokejumpers, Hot Shots, Morrison, Fifth Street

The necessary footwear when traveling. SmokeJumpers and Hot Shots (have to switch off every day to let them dry of course), some Morrisons for going out when not working, and some AE Fifth Streets in case the need for a non-work boot comes up. And yes, at least I covered part of the bed this time.

Thanks Andy!! All of them are hot! Really difficult to choose for a first pair. Just beautiful boots. smile.gif

Well that was disappointing, got them back yesterday and they just clamped the heel, no noticeable change in fit/feel.

I have always had 'many' pair of socks, and change them every day, if not more. But they are shitty cheap, and don't last. This guy is got my interest peaked with only having 2 pair of 'HIGH QUALITY' socks and switching them out. Anyone have any experience with quality wool socks and Whites. I like the recommendations from the youtube video but will go with the higher cut socks so they work with boots.

Been away for awhile since last update, will post a few shots and update in a day or so.

I bought 10 pairs of Filson medium weight wool socks about 5 years ago.  I have been wearing them about 8-9 months out of every year and only now are a few pairs of them showing any wear.  Filson doesn't make the ones I have anymore. My point is that when you pay the big bucks for socks it's worth it.

These are the whites retro oxfords I got back in June 2015. I had not done a thing to them at all besides brush them, but this week I found myself with a few hours to kill at Reagan National airport in DC, so I figured I would see what an airport shoeshine does to British tan chromexcel.

The next day there was yellow paste forming in the creases, but it brushed out.

Just curious, anyone have any experience with a pair of White's with either the Christy or the 2060 Vibram (the later being another thick rubber sole but with a bit of a heel, unlike the Christy)?  I have seen a few pics here and there, but wouldn't mind some testimony and/or updated pics.  I have not generally been a fan of those thick Vibram soles, but am thinking of some to give my sore heels a break now and then.

No personal experience (there's at least one person over on GYW with a pair, though), but I know that when I asked about getting a pair made up for myself, they told me that the arch-ease would be significantly less prominent with a christy sole, so my interest waned immediately.

Thanks. That's one of the things I was wondering about.  I need the arch support, but I am also looking for a bit more of a cushion on my heels.  Basically, my feet suck...

Have you thought about doing "honey soles," which are basically super soft gum soles?  I know Nick's offers that as an option, so I imagine White's may also offer it (or be able to do it, if you went through Baker's).
