I plan to wear them for work , as a project manager, so part time construction site, part time office. I agree on he stitched areas. I ordered standard trim. In hind site , I should have ordered close trim. My bad, as this is my first pair of White's boots. I need to see some pics of Bounty Hunter boots so I can see the quality of the stitching. Since I only have this pair, I have nothing to compare them to.They are handsome, what's the intended use?
Do they fit?
Seems like there is a lack of differentiation (is the trim close or standard?) between the stitched down areas, as previously discussed.
Rick, close trim is for wusses;
I don't see many posts about the Nomad boots. Does anyone have any or know anything about them?
I would love some with a soft toe and made from dress brown leather. But I have heard that White's insists on celastic reinforced toes and won't make them from dress brown leather. On that note - is black Chromexcel died through?
If anyone is interested, Kyle said Whites will make them with a soft toe. A year ago this wasn't the case and they would only make them with celastic.
I'm considering a pair in black CXL, soft toe, double midsole, Vibram 700 composition half sole, natural trim. I'm going for a vintage 30s/40s style engineer.
Those will look absolutely killer! Throw on some roller buckles, and you will have the total package
Will they do a 10" shaft? I'm ok with 11" but my preference is 10"
The instep/arch area on White's should be tight initially. Not painful, but much tighter than most footwear you are probably used to. If you have a high arch it will make it even tighter. It will loosen over time. And that build looks great! I like the two-tone with toe cap.My new Bounty Hunters were delivered today. Just a few days over a month since I placed the order. Here's a few pics I took . I have a question on how you guys put on and take off these boots. I have a high instep/arch and find that my foot does not want to just slide in to these boots. I end up using a shoe horn and still it is a tight fit. Once on, they feel like slippers, very comfy. Getting them off is always quite a pull also. I have a few pairs of boots that offer a larger opening and I can slip right in to and out of them. Just wondering if this is a White's boot thing and it will get better with time or maybe something on the build needs to be tweaked.

Andy b,
They fit just fine. My problem is getting my foot into them. It is a tight squeeze to get my foot (instep) to start into the boot as there is very little room. I am pushing my foot between the top back of the boot and the tongue. Once my instep gets past that , its good. Seems like if the tongue was just a little more bellowed, more leather, I could slide right in.
By the way, Ohio. Those are some real nice looking boots. I need to stay away from this forum because all it does is make me want another pair and after forking over the dough for two pairs of White's a couple months ago along with a pair of Sorell's I just can't do any more boots for a while.
