Can someone who has had both the SD's and the SJ's talk about the differences between the lasts, and how they fit differently? Also if you have White's thick leather on one could you compare it to their dress leather? thank you

The lowered 1/4 looks so strange to me on these boots, but hey to each his own.

Me too, but it could just be the angle of the photo. I like the build, and assuming the heel height suits bl@ster all is well. Can you give us some fit pics, bl@ster?

Hi, i would like to enquire about whites sd sizing. Currently i am wearing a rw 1907 9D. What size should i get if i want to get a white's sd.

with all the options available today, things can get confusing.

IMO, 1/4 lowered block heels looks good on single leather soles.
anything thicker__ standard heels seemed more proper.

I think the lowered heel has more to do with the arch support. I emailed with Kyle at Baker's and confirmed with him that for people with low arches (like me) the 1/4" lower heel is better. 

Here's another pair of the distressed leather SD I saw while surfing for White's. Apparently this is after 3 weeks of use.

 

The distressed is nice.  I need to get a sample of it to feel it, smell it and scratch it up and get it wet to see how it behaves.  

distressed leather reminds me too much of pre faded jeans.

i think its more unfinished rather than pre distressed, but I could be wrong.  I think that pic is funny though, because it shows some "well worn boots" but he has some spiffy overdyed selvege that is pretty much spotless.  Talk about posing for a photo op

While I'm at it I might as well ask my burning White's questions:
1) Does anyone have an image of a semi dress in a SMALL size (5 - 6)? I'm curious how large the heel looks relative to everything else.

2) Under what circumstances is the tongue leather different than the rest of the boot?
