Not to be a hater, but why do you guys want your food to be so spicy hot?

I'm not really interested to parse this too finely. In a mild/medium/hot scale, tabasco and chohula are medium spicy in my opinion.

It's quite . . . stimulating. Some people get a euphoric feeling from hot foods. And you know the whole thing with traditionally hot foods and hot climates . . .

Hot for the sake of hot and at the expense of the other flavors is rather dumb. But then again, I think Cholula and Sriracha are rather mild so my view is probably a little skewed.

+1 on both. Shit doesn't even bother me. Oddly enough, if I use enough sriracha, I end up getting a runny nose even though I don't think its spicy.

Good question.

Personally I don't like to use a lot of hot sauce on my food. I find that it disguises the flavor and I don't like it hot for the sake of being hot. When used sparingly and especially certain brands, it is a flavor enhancement.

I like almost everything I eat to be spicy... don't know why. It's just good!

Favorite sauce I've had is Steven's hot sauce, only one retailer in the U.S. sells it I think. It's got alot of flavor that's used in Sofrito in puerto rican food.

Other than that, I really like Yucateo Red or Green

You know what it is funny is that I like spicy foods, i just don't like eating them. It is hard to explain.

Anyway, this is always my question when food is made spicy.

I seem to remember telling this story here but fuck it i'll tell it again.

Anyway, one of the podcasts I listen to, one of the hosts has a Thai or Indonesian boss. And he really likes hot sauce. So, for X-mas, dude got his boss this hot sauce and they keep increasing the heat every year. His boss is putting it on his steak like its ketchup and the dude starts tearing up it is so spicy and HE KEPT POURING IT ON saying "this is so good etc.
