I lived in Lee's Summit for almost 2yrs. and moved back to the Bay Area just a little over a year ago. Gotta say, there's some very hospitable people out there, although I did find the KC area a little dull and the summers were highly unpleasant. But, I did love the bar scene in KC. I can't find one single place here in the Bay that has the "warmth" of some of KC's bars. One place in particular that I'll always talk about is Tanner's Bar and Grill on Broadway in Westport(?). Perhaps maybe it was because I got to know the bartender and we had some friendly conversations or that I could turn and talk to a girl without having them think I'm hitting on them. But I didn't feel the need to dress up and look pretentious when heading out. And I very much enjoyed sparking up casual conversation with girls there. Here, in the Bay, most girls are quick to think you're just hitting on them and most times, will brush you off quite quickly.
