PSA - ALL FRAGRANCE SPLITS WILL NOW BE LOCATED IN FS:OTHER. THIS THREAD WILL BE ABOUT CURRENT AND FUTURE SPLIT DISCUSSION ONLY

OK guys this is now the landing place for all future cologne splits. The gist of a split is this: You have a parfum that you REALLY want but its just too damn expensive and you'll never end up using up the whole bottle in the next 5 years. Enter the split. Several people together help defer the cost of some of the bottle and everybody goes home with a little bit of what they want. Here's how it'll work. If you've got in mind to host a split then go ahead and create a post with all the details. Make sure to include the fragrance, the size of the split bottles, and the price of the bottles including shipping. Any exclusions (international, jerkoffs, etc..) would be helpful as well. To make it easier, include a numbered list with empty spots and then you can go back and edit in the names once people have joined the list.

EXAMPLE: CHANEL POUR SYCAMORE 1. 2. 3. 4. THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR SPLITTING FULL BOTTLES, NOT FOR DECANTS OR SAMPLES OF BOTTLES YOU ALREADY OWN . If you have a split that you're interested in, and need somebody to host it, please PM me. If you decide to host a split up please PM me so that I can add it to the list.

PLACES TO BUY SAMPLES:
http://theperfumedcourt.com/ - great selection but their prices can get WAY up there.
http://www.aedes.com/ - another one with a great selection and their sample program rocks. You can get 7 1oz samples for $14 shipped and if you place an order you get 7 free.
http://www.luckyscent.com/ - Probably the best. There are several free shipping codes and most samples range from $3-6. Excellent selection as well.

First up: A split of Frederic Malle's Musc Ravageur. CLOSED
425.jpg
A description from Aedes:
Perfumer: Maurice Roucel Leave it to Maurice Roucel, a perfumer renowned for his seductive and elegant creations, to create an intriguing and mysterious scent based on the powerful sensuality of musk. Bergamot, orange and lavender light up the top notes, while cinnamon and clove warm up the heart of the composition. The smoldering darkness of the drydown is created out of sandalwood, vanilla, amber and oriental resins. The effect is striking and uncompromising in its powerful sensuality. Top Notes: Bergamot, lavender Middle Notes: Clove, cinnamon Base Notes: Sandalwood, tonka beans, vanilla, guaiac wood
The 3.4oz (100ml) bottle costs $210 and the split will be 3 ways (33ml each). Each portion will come in a glass atomizer bottle and be shipped out Priority mail. Cost on each portion will work out to $80 which breaks down to $70 for the juice +4 per bottle + $6 shipping. PM me if you are interested in signing up and I'll include you on the list. 1.) Rambo 2.) Chocoboco 3.) Bullethead

Good idea for a thread! Also, with Ravageur, good deal and nice fragrance. I used to have a bottle and it's quite lovely; in fact, Roucel is probably my favorite "nose" of all time, given how many of his scents that have been in my tops. He does wonderful, deep, gourmandy scents with lots of subtlety and class.

For splits, here are some others I think would be good in the future, in order to round out the "perfect" ones in various categories, should anyone wish to do it. Note: I'm not interested in these myself, as I'm mostly out of the scent game, but just recs for some good fragrances:

Malle Bigarade Concentree (wonderful, funky citrus)
Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire (Thomas doesn't like this one, IIRC, but it's my favorite Vetiver/non-sweet scent)
Montale Patchouli Leaves (my personal favorite Patchouli)
Bond no 9 Riverside Drive (very classy 'gentlemanly' scent for daywear that is infinitely more interesting than Creed's offerings, IMHO)
Tabac Blond (leather!) or Chanel Cuir de Russie
Lorenzo Villoresi Piper Nigrum (wonderful mint/spice scent, good for winter)

Indeed. I have 100ml of XXV on the way. I think I am going to part with 30ml of it.

If you ever do a split of Creed Aventus, let me know! I'll be in instantly. Also might be fine with the Amouage XXV if the price is right.

Not meant to further tread away from the rails so to speak, but I'm definitely interested in some splits and will be keeping a close eye on this thread.

Seeing as I'm in a smaller Canadian center, I'm not such a good "splitter" but I'll gladly be a "splittee" many times over.

For what it's worth here are some of the more "beloved" niche stuff I'd jump in on:
- PdN NY
- Knize Ten
- Guerlain L'Instant
- "original" Antaeus and Egoiste
- C&S No88
- Rose 31
- Creed Bois du Portugal

For me 20ml of any of these would be borderline too much. That said, I'm sort of in decant territory I know; obviously I'd be open for that sort of thing as well.
