I just can't get into the whole silliness. As someone said, it's Silver Age comics brought to the screen, campiness, over-the-top roles and all. But I'm not sure if that's deliberate or not.... it may just be horribly bad writing.
I think I'm a victim of the 90's-00's comic book "grittyness". I'm sure a lot of people hate it, but I grew up on it, and it's what I like. Superheroes are inherently silly, so a deliberate effort to stamp this out of it (serious plot lines, stuff you cannot laugh at) goes a long way.
I'll give next week a try, it feels like a large part of the ridiculousness came through the writers wanting to get the "origin" story out of the way. They just rush through everything in a ham fisted way, but if it gets too a decent plot at a later date....
