I really like the boots too. How is the sizing for AE shoes? Looking at a few, my first AE's. Thoughts on this? http://i1.ebayimg.com/05/i/08/3c/71/07_1.JPG -fn

Standard American sizing for most lasts. The 5 last might feel longer and narrower (the Park Avenue and I think the Fairfax and Hastings are on the 5 last)

Ok now that I've gotten tentative approval of these shoes with jeans, what do you guys think should be paired with the denim?

As far as specific jeans to pair with these shoes, I was thinking 5EPs in Dark Worn or Resin, Bootcut OLA in Basic Dark Used or RRDS (fairly new), or R&B RB6s.

Some thoughts were polo/sport jacket, t/sport jacket, t/m65, polo/corduroy blazer, sweater/sport jacket (for cooler weather)

Any other ideas?

any suggestions?

those are great shoe pickups, and will be perfect with jeans. esp like the boots!

the polo/cord jacket idea is a good one. Adding texture on top will go well with the slightly dressy nature of the shoes. I'd prolly wear a plaid/check'd short sleeve (or long) shirt with a cord jacket. the only combo I'm not feeling is Tshirt with jacket...it's hard for me to picture any of those shoes with a tshirt.

Well, I was thinking some like a solid black T-shirt with a navy jacket and 5EPs. I have a Varvatos crewneck T in black woven cotton that's really nice.

I also thought they might go well with a shirt like this, potentially with a sportcoat.

Cool stripey tshirt, I got a very similar one from HM last year that I wear a lot with boots in the fall/winter. Some reason long sleeve striped Ts dont seem as casual as normal Ts.

Seriously? No navy with black is one of those old rules that I consider completely true and not optional.
