Libertine has gone under. Closing in a few weeks. Apparently Drew was the "hands on"/QC dude, and his leaving was the beginning of the end.

So the scammer was the QC guy? That's some fucked up irony right there.

My unfulfilled order didn't put me in financial ruin, but it took so long to never arrive, that my financial situation was quite different than the two years earlier when I ordered. Was making pretty good money, ordered a jacket, waited, waited, waited... decided to go traveling and stop working for the better part of a year, and an $800 refund certainly wouldn't have hurt when I returned back to reality. And if I received the jacket that I ordered, I could have at least looked cool while eating cups and cups o' noodles.

Pleased to hear that Libertine has failed.

I see Falcon is starting production on the exact same T1 jacket that TOJ offered...I thought all those design's were Drew's? How is Falcon commencing production on those without facing some legal action from Drew? Are they in contact with him maybe negotiating deals? Or are they hoping he never crawls out the hole he's hiding in?

Seems sketchy

It seems sketchy as hell but the fanboys here and on falcon will defend. Remember Charlie and the "fun" gang at Falcon sat for almost a year knowing Drew was ripping us all off and didn't say anything because... oh well their limp defense is somewhere in the 3600 pages in this thread.

Whole thing's a hot mess

C'mon man, think about it:  How does the guy who owes mid-6 figures to around 300+ people have any legs to stand on when it comes to suing people he thinks ripped off his intellectual property?  Wouldn't the obvious question be "Well, Mr. Keith, if you care so much about it, why don't you just fulfill all the outstanding orders?"

All the conspiracy theories also make no sense.  TOJ was already a decently successful business until DK shit the bed.  Why would he blow it all up, restart it as Falcon and collude with Charly and crew to negotiate deals?

Some of you guys need to review Occam's Razor, the simplest explanation here being that DK is a shit businessman who took the money from his clothing startup and tried to leverage it into the restaurant business, and when it all blew up he bounced on customers with outstanding TOJ orders.  He's not exactly a criminal mastermind here.

The designs were conceived with all our heads in it.

How do you propose Drew would take "legal action" against us? "I want to press charges on these two guys... oh btw, I scammed hundreds of thousands of dollars off of people online and am evading the IRS"

Or do you propose that Drew approaches me directly and asks/tells me to stop using HIS designs? This is would an alright approach if it didn't end up with Drew on the ground with a few broken bones.

Negotiating deals? wat. It's as simple as "Drew is a deceiving fuck that fucked me, Daniel, and a lot of customers over, and if I ever see him in person, I'm breaking this kneecaps."

Not to mention the potential money thatcould have made by fulfilling orders and not trying to  "scam" everyone.

I understand that people are upset and ideally you wouldn't have to worry about things like this happening. Unfortunately they do. I've had 3 pending orders with TOJ during this debacle. Toj0, Ma-1 and DR2013. I got the MA-1 after 1 year of waiting without any sort of notification whatsoever.

The double rider I managed to squeeze myself through on the last order that Drew shipped right before he permanently disappeared. I attribute this to quickly taking action and getting myself on the pending order spreadsheet ASAP. I wasn't the oldest order but i was definitely one of the first to put my info on the spreadsheet. I remember at this time people were still waiting to put input their info. When Drew actually responded suddenly everyone actually tried to put their info on there. I think Drew sent out maybe 2 batches of jackets. Those that got on the spreadsheet late even if they head an earlier order date were shit out of luck. Drew was gone and we were fucked.

I was fairly lucky at this point with the first two jackets but still out the Toj0. I guess compared to a full leather its not as much, but its still almost 400 dollars. I called paypal a bunch of times and got the same answer every time that it was way past the eligible date to file a claim. I tried filing claims electronically but to know luck eve after multiple attempts. Knowing I had done this transaction with Bill Me Later now known as Paypal Credit. I did a bunch of online research and stumbled upon a PDF form to manually file a claim. I filled it out and printed out a bunch of evidence supporting my claim and physically mailed it in. I got a notification later saying my file was claimed. Upon a lengthy review period I was notified I had won my claim and would receive my funds back. After almost 1.5 years I had my money back at least.

First thing I did after this was to let you guys know here on SF so I could maybe help some people. I hope it worked for a few. I dont remember what my point was going to be with this, but I'm sorry you guys have to go through this. If you guys have done everything you can. I think its time to cut your losses and move on. I don't believe that Falcon Garments is part of this scam, but even if I had a suspicion I would need some evidence before making any accusations. Let's try to think logically. If there is any chance at getting your funds back, pointing fingers is definitely not going to do it.

Edit: oh I also remember during this time, I found out Drew had started following my then gf on IG which she and I thought was super creepy. I just wanted my jackets though so just ignored it.

Edit 2: did a quick google search and only thing i could find through a quick google search was and IG mentioning the new restaurant @catail I think someone mentioned a while back that Drew was involved with this, but I never did the due diligence to find out if this was true. Pretty sure the golden retriever that shows up on there is Drew's I'm still a follower of his old IG which is private now, but they look the same.

It's moot anyway since you can't copyright design.

Dunno about the patterns if they're the actual physical patterns that Drew cut...but yeah I think they're in the clear.

I guess you might have a legal standpoint if you claim that Charly was an employee and he used Drew's contacts to start his own business...but I doubt even that would stand. I'm not a lawyer though.

Once Charly or Dan start posting multiple pictures of $500 bottles of vintage Champagne, talk grandiose coke dreams of starting entirely different businesses, or ramble on about girlfriend problems all in a single paragraph (without double spacing), it's time to file for Paypal chargebacks.

I drank Andre sparkling wine last week. Not sure if I could name a $500 bottle of champagne if someone asked me. I got really sad when my $30 bottle of Bulliet went empty last weekend.

I work in an cubicle and hope to one day have an office. Upper management dreams!

I'm a very stable, happy long-term relationship.

I think everyone's safe.. for now.

The major difference, when dealing with people online, is that Drew continuously disappeared, dodged and hid... while Charly always showed up and explained wtf was going on. That's why we all trust him, even if there was some doubt from time to time.

I went this morning to my bank to update my address and they have made me "premium", which includes having access to the "premium banking team". I guess it's just a stupid thing to make poor souls like me feel better about themselves but I wonder if I should bring up this again? I tried to file a chargeback a while ago online but it was declined because the payment was too long ago.

This thing still hurts.
