"took a real quick pic of the fit on the new TOJ, only thing that makes me even consider getting it redone is the silver zippers. i was recommended to go with silver zippers with the black lambskin rather than the gunmetal, which i requested at first… but i think the silver makes it look a little “cheap.” or just a bit tacky over all… too biker-esque…"
I have to agree to a point--there is a reason why people opt for blacked out zippers or options like "no snaps" on DRs--the shiny hardware on black leather will lean towards biker-ish, moreso on DRs, even if it's cut nicely. Some of it lends to just self-perception and some can pull it off better than others.
imo, the silver zips really shine when you pair it like the red, green or whiskey calf leathers, as the is contrast really nice--and no one is going to mistake those jackets as biker--definitely on the fashion end.
You could probably fit a 48, but I would go 50 if you want a little more relaxed look. Personally, I think a varsity it looks better if you go up if you're in between sizes, as it's already cut pretty slim.
