The MA-1 won't be the Toyo one. Just trying something new that I don't think has been done before. Toyo's nylon twill is nice, it's probably housemade or at least custom made for them as they've done massive research into repro fabrics. I respect that, but can't get any of it myself. If I made an MA-1 with the nylon that is available to me, I was worried it'd look cheap (nylon is cheap on its own) so I'm going another direction and trying out an MA-1 from 100% suiting wool for the shell, bemberg lining. Putting it in for sampling today. It'll be puffed and slightly voluminous but using layered poly fill, it should be pretty light. I want it to feel more like a duvet for the body, rather than nylon-covered army blanket.

This is what kept me from getting any kind of MA-1 let alone the anniversary version. Will wait with joy :slayer:

What are the chances of any shade of GREY leather coming back in any animal? This will determine my next jacket...

PLZ drew, don't let it get too puffy! Like the idea of a will body though. Any quilting? I'm assuming traditional ribbed bits?

The attachment one looks cool on the hanger but I wasn't really into the fits. It's too slim for my liking nowadays. I want to express the idea of an MA-1 with a bit more volume and puff.

Drew, you should probably hang onto the old domain.

This is how I felt too, actually .... not sure exactly what was off, though.

It's... alright, but I feel the fit is kind of boring, and I just feel there are certain patterning things in an MA-1 that give it a more distinct look than the Attachment, even more so than the actual materials its made of. I've learned this over the few iterations I've made, what can be done with what machines, etc. Ours may end up looking similar to the Attachment one, I am not sure until I see the sample done. Just doing a crapshoot since it's a first prototype and we're experimenting with liner thicknesses and stuff. We're definitely using a different fabric and therefore the look will be different in that regard, though.

I honestly feel that way about a lot of the mid market Japanese stuff nowadays though, the sleeker fitting stuff kind of bores me. Not a huge fan of Attachment, never owned a single piece of it actually. Don't like that shrink wrapped Japanese silhouette with the hip flare, I prefer to express masculinity and focus more on the upside down triangle shape more so; I've always done that pretty much.

I always hated when the teacher in grade school would say 20 times, the field trip is tomorrow I repeat, the field trip is tomorrow! There would always then be one of those kids who paid 0 attention who would raise his hand and say... So when's the field trip?

I hate those kids...

I got caught out in the rain the other day with the bball

There were spots from the water on it that i initially thought was going to go away after a while but after looking at it today, the spots are still there:

Is there any way to get rid of them or are they permanent?
