No, I don't think it will. It just soaks right in and makes it much much more pliable. Think of it like oiling up a baseball mitt.

I like to put a coat on and then wear it, feels much softer and will mold better to my body while it's still "wet". It dries within a few hours. It definitely speeds up the break in process of the calf.

HUh!!! I had no plan to cop a DR but after raulishere posted his fit pic at 6'3" I plan to get one. Yes there are a bunch of fit pics of the DR but raulishere is my exact height and similar measurements. Charly said I needed a 54 in the TOJ. I dont see too many fit pics of 54's. I would not have been able to tell if he didnt post his measuremens. Its easier to trust a buncher when your standing in front of him with his idea of a $30 steak you will eat . Its not so easy when you are communicating through email on a $400 jacket you plan to wear.
The leather jackets are MTM, you could wear a 56 if you needed to. I don't see how you being a 54 influenced your decision. There are pictures of bigger guys wearing DR's in this thread.

So its not going to plug it up and make it non-breathable like the LP will? I ended up ordering the combo pack earlier this week (silly to pay 50% of the value of a tin of LP for shipping so I got them all) and I got rained on this morning...so it will show up with perfect timing
Eh? It's not like calf is breathable to begin with, but both leather and wax work on roughly the same property of impregnating the leather with a waterproof/resistant barrier. The just produce different textures in the leather, need to be reproofed differently, and interact with various tanning methods differently.

Is the same true with lamb then too? Should I put some on my lamb MDR when it comes right away? Wait until it starts to feel dry?

Do they do any conditioning in the process of making the jacket or is it just how the hide comes (and maybe the hide was sitting on a shelf for a long time before it became a jacket)?

Holla at your boy. 6'4" with a 2010 DR among other TOJ items. Look in the gallery for them. And you people are complicating the ordering process far too much. I sent Charly measurements for a jacket I liked the fit of (with a minor adjustment requested) and then my body measurements. He sent me his sizing recommendation, I changed one figure a minuscule amount (it probably didn't even affect anything in the finished product) and then I left it alone for 8-10 weeks until I got my jacket. Stop spazzing out. It'll be fine.

Never wore my lamb DR so I decided to give a warm soak. Still can't decide if I prefer this over the Bomber. Funny to think I bought this over two years ago

For whatever reason the sleeves look short to me.

If you're that paranoid, fly to Japan and see Drew. Otherwise deal with it and don't post about it please.

I have no idea how lamb'll react to either. My guess would be the wax is too heavy, and the oil might be too. Drew probably has a better sense of how to preserve and protect lamb, but I'm not sure you can do much more than condition it with lexol regularly. It's fragile stuff.
