I really enjoyed following the development of TOJ, and I still get a tremendous pleasure out of the three TOJ jackets I have kept over the course of the last three years.

I forget the asymmetric shoulder thing--remind me? And regarding that excessively veiny MA-1. I really, really, really hope that is not an indicator of the declining quality of the "last" TOJ units. On the one hand, what somebody said about the company needing to use up less-than-premium leather to get rid of stock makes intuitive sense. On the other hand, it would be a very disappointing thing if *any* company did that, because it unnecessarily cheats the last customers out of quality that's been the bedrock of the company's reputation. All of which is to say: I hope TOJ maintains the quality they're known for, and I hope future units won't continue to display such excessive veiny-ness.

Mid-late December order here; I suppose I'll get mine around the end of 2014 or thereabouts (maybe a tad bit earlier?). Great timing as far as I'm concerned.

All we can do is hope and prey.

Thank You Based Jawnz

I'm not sure if this is intentional, but I wish the peak of the arm lined up with the shoulder seem. I don't think my A2 does this, but I don't have it on me to compare. It's causing the shoulder to not sit flat in an otherwise flawless jacket.

Not an MA-1. That's a CWU with a ribbed collar.

Totally is, I also have an MA1 on order, must have got the names confused when I typed the post.

Spy mode ON.
I saw a huge batch of what I thought were 4 zips going out for mailing yesterday and today.
Leather looked just as amazing as prior jackets. Buttery soft and minimal grain/vein or whatever you guys are talking about. Of course it's leather and it has texture but they all looked perfect and I would have been stoked to get any one of these jackets.
Spy mode OFF.

Depends on the fit you want. I'd go with 48 personally.

Fark this is me too and ordered a size 50
Though my shoulder measurements were closer to the 50

was in a similar situation and went for a 48. I have a Leather MA-1 coming with measurements closer to 48 measurements so we'll see how that works out.

Was hoping to have that arrive soon as it was a late July order, but it looks like I'll be (hopefully) in the next batch

I actually got a 48 through this week which I'm looking to swap for a 50.
I'm 6'1, 165 lbs. I'd size up from your regular size

Anybody get a BCDR recently?  Any update?  Is Daniel back yet?  On my 55th week.

I emailed Charly about an address change about 5 days ago, he hasn't replied. I was going to assume that he got it, but I'm not sure. I know he usually replies for other stuff and that it's easy for stuff to get lost when he's getting so many emails.

If in doubt, go with the bigger size for the varsities. Especially if you have a big drop. YMMV.

What are you smoking?? There's at least another year of jackets to deliver. If they're running out of leathers now, the guys who just ordered are getting TOJ brand yarn and tin foil.

This place is a daytime soap opera with all the unfounded gossip, wow.

Yes, a year, as opposed to several years of upcoming leather manufacturing. I obviously don't know exactly where TOJ stands regarding their available stock of leather, but it stands to reason that at some point they would stop adding more stock and work on finishing up what they have. Where that point in time is, I don't know. It's possible that with a year's worth of production to go, it's too early. Or not. Regardless, one doesn't have to "smoke" anything to suggest that we're seeing the tail end of production coming into view.

I like how a lot this analysis starts off with, "I don't know anything about this BUT" and then it goes from there.
